Shit, man. I swear sometimes western developers tend to really try to be the anti-thesis of japanese games many times.
Final Fantasy has their girly looking male characters but may a lightning bolt strike my head if I was the only one who thought that character art (not in game model) looks like a very masculine guy. It wasn't until I read "female monk" that I could see a lame excuse for breasts in the drawing, Seriously, what is with Blizzard's obsession for huge shoulder pads? Someone tell them to stop putting huge shoulder pads on everything. It's gaudy.

I think they should have made her more asian/packistani looking... I'm not sold on her looking anything like a monk especially the blonde hair.. wtf!? meh doesn't matter I have no interest in playing the monk class anyway... just barb and wizard for me, possibly a rogue if that's what the fifth class will be.

Giving Blizzard a hard time for delaying a game is sort of like hating on a wild deer for eating the flowers off all the plants in your yard. Sure, it sucks, but that’s just sort of what they do. Nevertheless, Diablo 3 is going to go down in the history books as an especially bad example of Blizzard’s luxurious dev cycles. First announced in 2008 and in development since 2005, Diablo 3’s been tempting us for quite some time now. Unfortunately, Blizzard has made it official that the hack n’ slash isn’t going to arrive until 2011, at the earliest, meaning at least three years between announcement and delivery. I don’t doubt that Diablo 3 is going to be released someday, and it’ll probably suck up all of our free time whenever it is. But for now, it’s vapor, at least they could release some new media in the mean time and not make us wait until the next overhyped blizzcon.

why bother interviewing anyone from blizzard on diablo 3 all we ever seem to get is 'not ready to talk about that yet' and "no comment", what's the big freaking deal, with a lack of screenshots/videos/information as of late my interest is plummeting.

well that's all well and truly nice but I really don't think anyone cares about the drama and inner workings of what goes on behind the scenes of a diablo fan web site, in future just please report on diablo 3 news.

What's the point in asking questions when 9 times out of 10 we get answers like "we're not prepared to talk about that right now" or "it's something we're working on, but we can't talk about it yet" D3 has failed simply because of the fact that it was announced 2 years too early.

D3 is already an Epic Fail, they announced it WAY early and only drip feed fans bullshit information... pretty much every question put to the panel at all the blizzcons was answered with "that's something we're not going to talk about right now" I for one could give a shit about the lore, like really! who cares... yeah at first it might seem cool blah blah blah... but once you start playing and clicking away like a madman your really not going to be engrossed in lore, blizz could save ALOT of time and get this thing out if they just forgot about the bullshit lore aspect of the game.. it's basically a mindless clickfest... get on with it!

sounds like a very good critque you just gave, I can only base my opinions on what i've seen from gameplay videos.. and I agree with you about some of the effects/spells looking a bit too flashy.. I think there's a thread on that somewhere but anyways here's hoping that some of the "boring" aspects you pointed out are only because it was a demo, but having said that I don't recall reading anyone else's demo impressions saying "oh man the demo was freakin awesome" I'm a bit worried now.

I think blizzard has put too much stock into blizzcon and showing a playable demo of D3, I mean why bother if it's another 2 years off... all that wasted time and effort to show off a game that's far from completion, usually when a company has a playable demo to show off the game is usually just around the corner... just a big tease if you ask me... granted all the diehards will be soaking up any new info/screenshots/gameplay vids etc but for the casual player that has never heard of the diablo franchise before is going to be like what!? another two years!?!? talk about pre-mature hype.

lets face it there are some games that are better on console than PC and vice versa, example - diablo 3 being a better PC game based on all the clicking and close up reading of stats/items I just feel the vibe wouldn't be the same clunking around the screen with a ps3 controller athen you have games like Gran Turismo 5 much better suited on the ps3 - sitting back on the couch with a 42 "+ HD display racing around with a controller or wheel... with friends. I think this will never change, computer hardware will always evolve quicker than consoles that's the nature of the beast, sony, microsoft and nintendo are locked into a unknown amount of development time... could possibly be another 5 years before we hear anything about a PS4 or XBOX 720 etc. but then saying all this I ask the question is PC gaming dying? I dunno... the only PC exclusive games that i'm looking forward to are Diablo 3 and Battlefield 3 from DICE (whenever they get around to annoucning it) other than these two... there's not much on the radar thats wanting me to upgrade my PC.
