Quote fromnaksucow - u summed it up!
jumping into d3 on mp will be stupid, as noone else will stop and wait while you talk to deckard or whoever.
because some ppl will play it for different reasons, some for story, some for just beating the game.
I, on the other hand, am definitely gonna install D3 and just shoot straight past mp and go solo.
Cuz, for me, i love the story, and can't wait to take my time and unravel it.
If blizzard intends to encourage starting with online play immediately, they're gonna have to do alotta encouraging on my part (and i think any user like me).
Unless of course they put a 'online registration recquired for any play' clause on the box, which will totally piss me off.
I agree on playing the game solo first before online, if anything it would help prevent people, who have no idea what they are doing, from ruining parties. I remember one game there was a new guy who would run around and ask for items everytime he died because he didn't know he could get his items from his dead body.
People should play single first if only so they don't look like complete idiots when they start on B-net

Like I said earlier, Diablo refers to the continuation of a story...
and do you mean Baal or is that a character I am unfamiliar with?

People don't play Diablo games just to kill Diablo
If Diablo does not return to this game I assure you that most people would still buy the game because the real fun of the game is the hack and slash game style against demons in unnatural settings with other players from around the world, and following the plot of the Diablo universe.

Also just because the game is called Diablo 3 does not mean that Diablo has to be in the game, Diablo 3 could just be a continuation of the games plot. However it would be disappointing if he wasn't in the game.

Even though that was a problem on the old B-net, I doubt it would be now. With the insane upgrades in technology and the fact that B-net could hold tens of thousands of people at once, I think the lagging will be minimal.
I hope that they decide to keep at least 8 per game and if not at least 6 but 4 seems way to small for a diablo game.

I do that too
I know that this is just an internet forum but there is no need to use completely bad grammar like the street lingo, and when writing long paragraphs it is hard to keep peoples attention which sometimes could almost be a good thing.
What I hate the most are the people who are losing arguments and instead of admitting defeat or trying harder, just blatantly attack the other people.
by the way this is way

one idea I came across was that there could be a monk character that would not heal, I highly doubt it but it is a possibility.

The only thing I have heard about b-net from reading over interviews and such is that they want to limit the amount of people playing in a game. this seems to me that there won't be 8 people per game anymore, but less. (I can't remember what website I found it on but if I do I will post it later)

Are you implying that Blizz may end up causing D3 to become vaporware? and even so how does focusing on the positives cause that?

I can't wait to find out what other levels there are and what the whole story is.

Plus I think this would run to close to the plot of D2 where a lone warrior possessed with diablo travels around trying to fend off his total possession only to lose in the long run.

Where did you hear of the "confirmed expansion hero"?
the necro is too similar to the witch doctor and Blizzard already said that they want as little overlap of characters as possible.

I think it would be kind of funny if there was no pure caster class and another class that no one has even thought of... like a samurai? It wouldn't be a class that is heavy into the defenses like the paladin had and he could have swifter and more agile attacks that were less powerful then that of the barbarian.
And what if they replace old ideas of characters with similar ideas, for instance instead of the assassin there could be ninja...
Now I know that those ideas don't really fit into the Diablo Plot but I just started reading the books and you have to remember that D3 is placed 20 years into the future, there could be many changes
One last thing, there won't be a Rouge character because that was used in D1 already.
