Finishing moves, lal, no thx. Why? "omg, i have uber weapon dmg, i need 3 combos to get a finishing move, gah mobs die in 2 normal hits". Was going to say "welcome to diablo" but i'm hoping all wow players stick to wow.
WoW has nothing to do with finishing moves.

yea it is very confusing...it seems like it could go either way.....I have an idea. But don't shoot me down...maybe If someone from Diablo Fans could get a confirmation from the author on exactly what he ment by upturned or how he envisioned it...that would put this whole thing to rest...in fact Daemaro....who wrote that part about Imperius??? which author was it?

i like bosses having finishing moves but if characters did it woul be just like playing your friends in supersmash and them always using the same highpowered attack... horrible idea :)
    ...It would be non spamable.

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/upturned this is the definition of upturned...the symbol or "sword" on that angels chest is being directed downward...not upturned.

The reason it would be very hard to implement is because you face so many monsters at once (in the hundreds, sometimes) that having finishing moves would be an excess in coding (space), would slow down processing and increase ping because of having to execute it so many times and on a large graphical scale (lag), and having finishing moves against a bunch of monsters at once (think Whirl Wind, Fire Ball, Zeal...)

This game is designed for group herding and elimination in masses, not cutting down an enemy one by one.
I agree with you that it would be no easy task, but this is Blizzard were talking about...it is kinda like saying I am not sure if Barry Bonds can hit a home run. I kind of imagined it different I guess, I wasn't really talking about taking skills like whirlwind and making them finishing moves. but maybe a set of finishing moves that you use that can only really effect one to two targets at a time. I guess what I am trying to say is there could be a limit on AoE for finishing moves.

Well as far as using finishing moves on bosses I am not sure that would work to well...when I created the thread I was more or so just referring to using the moves on lesser demons and etc.

This is just a little change of topic but still related. Does anyone remember the Mortal Kombat that implemented your own finishing move creation system? I am not sure which one it was god knows there has been too many, but there was one where you had the ability to piece together your own moves in the end to essentially create your own fatality. Then after you created it it you could use it along with others you created in the game.

I've seen hack and slash PvP games work this in and you guys are trying to say it wouldn't work in a PvE game? I agree, I am not a Blizzard fan boy, but I do believe that Blizzard has a very talented staff working on D3 and so I think implementing it would not be hard for them.

    Puh-lease!

I was just wandering guys and please pardon my ignorance but I have unfortunately not gotten around to reading the books yet, but is the "Burning Hells" a group of some sort? or is just ment to be taken literally, as just a description of hell in that it is burning?

Here is kinda what I picture when I talk about finishing something with the Barbarian http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIOPZxpjSX0&feature=related. Also I like the part in Gladiator when Russel Crow stabs the dude in the chest with both swords then takes them out and proceeds to decapitate him.

Most metal from Norway and Sweden and the major Northern countries is about vikings and barbarians, theres even a genre known as viking metal.

I agree with you on the screams and bone crunching tho, that sounds pretty awesome.

Also, good point about dual wielding, too.

But srsly now, which is the most fitting barbarian weapon? Sword, axe, mace, or battle-hammers? and why?
...Well if I had to pick the most barbaric weapon i would go with the weapon that is probably the most crude, pain inflicting one, and the one that will kill you after you have suffered. So my choice is well a tie between a mace and a battle hammer. Both cause serious damage, and unless your hit with one in a vital area your gonna live but be in great pain until your well...beat to death. As compared to a axe or sword it is most likely gonna be a quick slash or clean cut or stab or impalement, Which I would much rather prefer if I am the enemy and I want a somewhat quick death.

What ever that comet is carrying is not good. It is a bad omen as stated. So it could be a corrupt angel, with a message, or it could be a dead angel. Who knows.
