Feb 11, 2011Sinistra posted a message on Blizzard Hopes to Release Diablo III in 2011Honestly, an announcement that more help being shifted to the D3 team would have been more reassuring. Hope is nice, but action speaks volumes, especially with share holders.Posted in: News
They basically stuck with the "its ready when its ready" stance, only that they hope its ready in '11, and this coming from higher up people then we're used too.
I cant see this alone satisfying anyone in the bitter camp, let alone share holders.
Thank you for the heads up though Diablofans.com
Edit: But, obviously I'm in one of the bitter people. -

Either man, this is just getting retarded. Im honestly embarrassed about how long Ive now been waiting for this game. Its, pathetic, really. Ive got caught up in Blizzards ridiculously long hype cycle, now Im under hostage to 'like' their facebook page or we're not getting any more info. What the hell kind of campaign is that? Now they aren't even listing D3 in the financial reports for this year? If we have to wait around for blizzcon before any solid info comes out, thats just fucked.
This game better be on the Peter Molyneux level of epic (the level he can never get out of his head, into code).
Edit: I'll tell you one thing for sure, Im not even going to look at any information Blizzard talks about with this rumored coming MMO, not a chance Im doing this to myself again. -

You guys are going to jump through a bunch of hoops just so Bastok doesn't have to take the time from his day to think about something new to update?!?
Blizzard has some of you by the short and curlys.
How Blizzard isn't being shown in the light of elitists by internet sites like this is a testament to the control that Blizzard has on its followers, and consequently what they can get away with.
If SOE and the Vanguard rep's tried to post something like this it would be all over the internet how the Vanguard rep's are all high and mighty and disassociated from the player base. Yet with Blizzard, its the players fault that info isnt coming out cause we didnt ask, and you guys agree. -

Ya, this is what has me in a terrible mood with them. Look at FFxiv, worst launch of all time, ALL TIME! Yet, they still have my attention coming this fall because the producer has been completely open about the process and has provided constant updates, even on setbacks.
Having Bashtok troll the community is not the same. It leaves a feeling like there is something going on behind the scenes that is sinister or at least hidden from the public due to financial gain reasons. Like you said, it just feels like we are being lied to time after time with D3.
Im in beta, and I can tell you that I have canceled my pre-orders for D3. I might come back to the game if things dont keep getting chopped all the while the release date being pushed back time and time again. I could understand delays, if things were being added, but things are constantly being cut from the game, so I have no understanding of what the hell is going on other than conspiracy theory's.

Well, looks like I wont be getting a CE then. Not a chance in hell Im waiting any longer than midnight to play.

Every single person only months after the game releases will be walking around it the best of the best gear because it will too easy to acquire. Therefore, this game is already dumbed down and is already implementing the WoW platform of allowing every single person access to gear that before only those of us with dedication were able to acquire.
Its a sad state of affairs. Its basically World of Diablo. The death of the solo playing hack and slash RPG is almost here and the new age of pay to play has taken over because society simple cant wait for anything. Everyone wants everything, right now, for free and no work. The majority of you people make me sick. You have ruined MMO's and now your about to ruin RPG's.

Oh dear. Please dont insult me.

Diablo 2 (or the genre) needed no work on the game play. The game play is the best and most addicting part of the game. The graphics are the part that always needed work.
How can anyone say the graphics are "impeccable, smooth and fully animated" when the Monk doesnt even use his staff to strike people?!? It just stays on his back the whole time while he throws punches. THIS IS GAME BREAKING IN MY IMMERSION. I just cant "get into it" when I see glaring mistakes on the graphical side like that. Its the year 2012 for god sake, let the monk swing the staff.

Its just as you said. More people flock to great looking games than games that looks old. (I keep making the compairison to Titan Quest. I dont see much graphical improvement in D3 to TQ, thats pathetic).
Would people flock to Battlefield if they never improved the graphics over that last generation?
You answered your own questions.

We all know that these delays are adding fail to this game, but the saddest part is that this game is a fail right out of the box because its not, nor is anywhere near being a next gen quality title.
The sad truth is that this game should have been released in this state at the very least 12-24 months ago with an expansion pack coming out at this time. A year or two from now we should have been hearing stuff about Diablo 4 starting but instead we are going to be stuck with a last gen game package for the next 3-4 years before we even start to hear anything about Diablo 4.
Lets just hope that they get Diablo 4 right, cause Im dissapointed as hell with D3.

Whew! Time to test out this bad boy. This at least will keep me from bitching about the release date.

Seems to me this whole year delay has been nothing more that a delay to implement the RMAH system. One could say that the actual game of Diablo 3 is already a couple years old. Its certainly not "next gen", nothing apart from the RMAH that is.

I wouldnt expect them to announce a release date at the coming investors meeting. Just doesnt seem like a place to announce a release date to me. I bet they'll just also repeat the statement that they're trying for Q1 or maybe even just say early 2012, to reassure the investors a bit. It will all be in the wording to me. If they say Q1, they are still not sure but hopeful. If they say early, there will almost certainly be another small delay.

F***-OFF! Im nearing a meltdown hearing all the blizzard double speak.

This is my impression too, combined with the "Bigger and Better things" comment which I'd bet was made in spite.
