Seems I'm too late to make a difference, but might as well post.
1. Through synergies and otherwise, will I be able to use lower level skills effectively late game *For Instance throwing barbarian like I could in Diablo II*
2. Because of the loot system, will more/higher quality loot drop from bosses resulting in boss farming (Groups since word is you can't solo all the bosses).
3. If I were a solo player, would I be able to make it through the game without the assistance of others?

Jul 18, 2008EtheriChaos posted a message on Blizzard: Why Corpses VanishIt would make sense that they'd disolve corpses over time to handle the strain on the computer calculations. Ya don't really need corpse explosion with all the new stuff they're bound to replace it with, but if you did, you could still have it set to disolve bodies in say a 30 second window, giving you more than enough time to blow them up before hand - just make it more inconvenient.Posted in: News

Jul 8, 2008EtheriChaos posted a message on Blizzard Comments On The Classes In Diablo 3It seems clear based on the information we have that a few things can be determined quite clearly.Posted in: News
1. Witch Doctor Replaces Necromancer (Obvious given from skill over lap). *Further to the point there's a part about the damage necromancers did and would make sense that they're no longer in the lime light of the "good" side.
2. Barbarian is the Coup De Grace of melee, though there will probably be one other at least partially reliant melee type with some sort of hybridization.
3. Ranged type is required (Some Equivilancy if not the Amazon) *Though having a male and female to each class kind of eliminates the "amazon" idea.
4. Glass Cannon type (Sorceress will probably be replaced by some other caster of very similar type).
And Lastly....
5. The final type is more or less up in the air, Druid is a strong possibility, particularly if they are actually hinting at it with the animation. Paladin is a favorite from back in the day and still seems viable to bring back. Assassin isn't out of the picture yet, as it is a favorite, though I somehow doubt it's immediate arrival into the game. And lastly, an entirely new cast to the crew that resembles something else in skill use (Like the Witch Doctor is to Necromancer). -
Jul 8, 2008EtheriChaos posted a message on Diablo III PK and PvPTo me the PVP questions seem to be broken down into a few simple solutions. Yes, you can create the overall game environment to cater to both groups (PVE Realm, PVP Realm Etc.) Yes, they can eliminate hacking, and program use, by cracking down on it like they do in WOW that makes a lot of PVP stuff lame. Yes, you can design games with locks on them for PVP only, PVE Only, Or Mutual Agreement. And lastly. . . Yes, you can make the system a lot like the Diablo 2 PVP mechanics and still have my vote, while including all of the above notes. Everyone gets what they want, no one has to choose between the two major groups permanantly, and the PVPer's can annihlate each other, and the care bears can hug if they like. Any questions?Posted in: News

I don't know a great deal about how the thing would work on a lot of the new consoles, I just think it would be an interesting idea. That being said, I think yes, the top priority should be to complete it on PC then they can work out the bugs for consoles if they see fit. And secondly, I think that if the consoles are to have a shot at success, they have to be able to merge with the computer players online.

I agree, with this one. As I previously stated, some replayability is loss when you can whimsically respec at will. Aside from that, it also loses a lot of the time and effort it takes to experience a build throughout leveling as opposed to just getting the end result.
Sometimes the journey is worth more than the destination.

1. The statues and things shouldn't be smiling unless it in some way denotes a sort of unnerving smile on a demonic face or something along those lines in a dungeon.
2. Bright Colors are fine and dandy in the outside world, good contrast, that being said, the dungeons don't have to be colorless, they just have to exemplify the opposite of the bright outdoors.
3. Art design for weapons and armor thus far look good, (Don't go over board on shoulder pads like they did on wow, sometimes, less is more)
4. There are some other added effects in dungeons that could be thrown in to really express the idea of "Really not somewhere you want to be." That I can only assume they're already doing in other levels. As it has been common place in the other Diablo games, I can't see how it wouldn't.
5. Wondering about the issues of line of sight (As it was a part of Diablo 1 and 2) and doesn't seem to be in Diablo 3. It may be something to look into, in certain dungeons, to create the line of sight barrier, where turning around a pillar can actually illuminate more clearly things that were previously unclear. The ability to create strategic differences with the environment can be useful (Breaking line of sight by turning a corner).

That all being said, it gives people the opportunity to respec partway, cannot be abused continously by a character, and secures a persons unique build structure throughout the game with a little extra wriggle room. Thus, it also preserves replayability. Personally, in Diablo II I did strats I were well aware wouldn't work just for the sake of trying it, like. . . Maxed out Rabies druid. Personally I think Blizzard should make sure that there are multiple avenues a person can take with each class to become successful. None of this Only Frozen Orb Sorcs, WhirlWind barbs, Zeal Paladins, and Revive Necros, and Lightning Javazons to excell throughout the bulk of the game; all classes should have multiple ways to excell within each tree.

1: Etymology of the name, who was Cain? Cain was the character in the Bible who comitted the first murder in history by slaying his brother. Coincidence? Quite probably.
2: It is quite unusual that Cain is as old as he is (basically every single character in the story eventually gets slaughtered in some manner unless they happen to be an arch-angel ;-))
3: Watching the gameplay movie, Cain seemed to be intent on discovering something down in the depths of the catacombs, despite the fact that the hero had no interest in listening to it.
Summary: Cain has been corrupted, his mind tainted (And how could it not be after battling the prime evils in his own way throughout the past 50 plus years right?) You don't see Tyrael down there gaurding him anymore? (And yes I think Tyreal is in fact good. What possible motivation would he have honestly?) At some point, it's going to turn out, Cain is evil, and it's your job to destroy his demonic possession with him along with it. But just like Lazarus, he was used as a pawn, to accomplish some mission that only his trusted position could afford him. Aside from that, I still wonder about the girl in the preview movie.
