And I did not set out to be rude. But when people try dismissing my arguments using fallacious tactics, that's when I need to put the logic smackdown on someone. It's perfectly fine to disagree with what I say. In fact, I welcome that sort of thing. I just don't like when people underhandedly try to dismiss everything I say, even though my initial intent is totally non-malicious.

I said that I believed many people tend to overestimate the significance of NPCs, and that Adria was one of these overestimated NPCs, thus seeming unlikely to me that she would be brought back for Diablo 3. Thus also leading me to conclude that she is an all likelihood dead anyway. This is what you call pretentiousness. Now who's being emo, Mr. Cloud?

My first sentence there matters because I was being sarcastic in saying that you actually need all the NPCs in Diablo because without them there would be no story. In other words, I'm saying just the opposite.
How do you figure? You really think there would be no Great Conflict between Heaven and Hell if Cain didn't exist? He's not responsible for the Great Conflict, or even the Sin War. Sure, it may be endearing for you to have Cain around. But there can easily be a story without him and you haven't satisfied my question as to how there can be no story without him.
He was a part of the story in the first and second Diablo, true. But he was only part of the story. And more than anything he was really just guiding you through the plot, not really being a huge part of it. So give me one good reason why the story cannot continue without him?
Yes, your thread is about Adria, but I brought up Cain to make a point about the supposed significance you place on NPCs and their relevance to the plot. A point that you chose to get into with me and you've yet to give me a good answer.

We're here to discuss whether or not Adrea is alive, not semantics about what the effect's of Cain are on the story. More Adrea, less off topic. If you want to discuss wether heaven or hell would not exist if certain key characters are killed off go make a thread. You're really starting to get annoying.. you can claim this is an intelligent convo, but all you seem to do is aggitate people, now begone.

He's saying the petitions a joke because you can create dummy emails and essentially have multiple signatures from one person. If 1 person made 10 fake emails and all 5k did that, than in reality, that means only 500 signed it :D. That's all hypothetically speaking of course.
I'm gonna skip the Cain stuff because it doesn't really have anything to do with this topic, but anyway all I meant to say was that it's a little weird that you don't get to visit her shack in D2 and that Cain spends a whole page of his journal writing about her. I don't care if she's dead either way, I just think it's possible that she'll return.
Blizzard has stated that they listen to their fans about things they like and don't like about their games, that they will and have in the past changed games due to what the fans have said. They are fans of their own games as much as we are.
It's obvious that the game has taken styling ques from WoW. The game is critically acclaimed and has 10 million subscribers. It makes sense that Blizzard would try to replicate WoW's success by replicating the look of the game.
However, I believe Blizzard will take this petition into account and realize that WoW players are NOT Diablo players, that the franchises are entirely separate entities and don't deserve to have their styles merged with one another. Diablo 3 will be a true Diablo game in the end.

When you change lighting you gotta change a lot of stuff, not just flick on a switch and voila, you gotta rebalance everything to work with that light so it won't look fugly.
