posted a message on With such nice graphics, should they eliminate the 3rd person camera?
I say go play Oblivion if you want a different view. The top-down is what helps to define the game, and is what so many others try to copy when making a Diablo-clone. Removing it would make Diablo like every other game out there that is not Diablo.

Truthfully, I think that Dungeon Sieg was one of the better "potion" systems, with two hotkeys, potions being stackable and partially useable. Or even Titan Quest with it's version.

I'm pretty sure that I won't like the health orbs though. It's too much of a pull from immersion.

posted a message on Just a thought of mine : The complaining
Certainly, we've only seen x% of the game now, however, what I saw in that little bit was enough to worry me. Do you not think, that as a fan of the past games since 1997, that I would jump at the mention of the latest sequel? Do you not think that I have been wanting this game to come out for a great many years? And now you wonder why, even though I liked the changes from 1 to 2 and to LoD, and to the patches since, I am worried about the jump to D3.

The gameplay itself seems like it will be alright, although I don't like the inventory changes nor the health orbs rather than potions. I'm not sure about the skill bar yet, that remains to be seen.

The atmosphere is what I'm not sure about, and what worries me the most, as the atmosphere is what truely set the Diablo universe apart from the myriad of clones. The dark gothic setting is why there is still people out there trying to make a Diablo killer, as nothing can grab the people like Diablo did. Titan Quest came closest I'd say, but still failed. Diablo is just too engrossing. Based on the gameplay trailer however, if what we saw is what we are going to get, I am not going to like the final product very much, and is why we are hoping to change some of it before it hits the shelves.

Don't make Aliens vs. Predator out of Aliens...make Diablo III, and give me the atmosphere that goes with it. There's a reason why Aliens is one of the best movies made, and is on almost everyone's "must watch list". And there's a reason why AvP is on the opposite list. Don't make a Diablo III that is like that, that's all I am asking.

posted a message on Will you buy D3 if there is a monthly cost?
I cannot see myself buying it at all if there is a pay-per-month scheme imbedded within it. As much as I love Diablo, I will stick with playing the older games if Blizzard decides it needs another money grabber.

I see them charging for Battlenet 2.0 however, while the single player remains free. The only question to me will be will they allow LAN play. Yes: I will probably buy it, despite the poorer art direction. NO: Noc hance in hell then.

posted a message on Are you willing to wait?
Myself, I am more than happy to wait until the game gets released with graphics that suit the atmosphere of the game. I am not happy with the current "generation" of wow-like backgrounds and such, and who knows, maybe they are a middling-ground version with plans to upgrade in the future, but I definately want it looking different in the released version.

It'll be all three of the primevals merged into one I imagine. Not as imposing as just Diablo, but we'll see what they do with it...

Here's an interesting one: Will the characters be customizable, like a "create your own barbarian" beyond the scope of armor and weapons?

The game willl probably will not be moddable.

He said that they arent working at it at the time being but it isnt impossible.

But the game has to much randomness in it for there to be modding.

Which is a very poor answer. Diablo I and II were both modded, despite being "unmoddable". I would much rather see support for it from the beginning, much like the Elder Scrolls, or Dungeon Siege, or Titan Quest or Neverwinter Nights, or numerous other games.

Will the game be moddable or support mod-makers for offline use?

    1 - Why D3 is Cartoon designed ? :(

I would also like to know the answer to this, as well as are the backgrounds seen in the gameplay trailer reminescent of the entire game, or can we expect more background scenery akin to Diablo's Butcher levels and such. I want to see people impaled on spikes, etc. The blood, the gore, the things that made Diablo so different from any other game. This one worries me with it's more "everyone" oriented look to draw in a larger market so to speak. Will my fears be allayed by the final product, or will this be more like Aliens vs. Predator in it's design, rather than Aliens?
