Don't tell me all red symbols/lines under ice on this one are shadow rendering and smoothing :

Nope, they're probably a soft light or luminosity layer in photoshop. there's this program that people use to draw nowadays, called photoshop. That's right, you actually draw right on the computer, and you can overlay symbols and images and it doesn't look hand rendered.

    I just figured something else.
As you can see, every symbol have four rings, so I consider the last one should have four rings also, so maybe that thing in the middle isnt or the gravity center.

    What do you guys think?

Or depending how you look at it, each one has three rings.

    Speaking of rings:

I SEE A REDISH SKULL OF SOME KIND

Anyone still have the gif of all of these fading together. That one was interesting because it looked like a big hot breath of air coming from where the mouth of that thing in the middle is.

Ok new game: What would be the biggest slap in the face that blizzard could realistically do once they reveal the last image?
a picture of a murloc and reveal that theres free murloc suits for everyone? WOW will no longer have a monthly charge (unlikely)? they're remaking blackthorne, only cool (somehow...also unlikely) ? etc.

am i the only one who is over this whole "look pixel by pixel at the new image" crap? i mean...if we just wait a little more we'll know without trying to find organization to something that is intended to be nothing by randomness. the runes mean something...yeah but none of the other stuff people has found has developed into anything. all of this "i worked hard to push a button and pump up the red in this image" stuff just seems like a waste of time.

WoW was good... for its time... but its gotten SOOO stale.

You know, some people just don't like WoW because they don't like mmorpg. And they hate the fans because they keep talking about it and the internet keep talking about the fans too. Maybe some people just think its annoying you know ?

Yeah thats true...what both of you said. I know soooooo many people that seem 100% like they are saying they hate WOW, just to say they hate WOW though. I suppose my opinion is probably pretty heavily influenced by that fact. I just know a lot of people from around the school i used to go to and all over the net who have never played it but somehow HATE IT HATE IT, and i try to understand and i don't.

:offtopic:: I don't understand the gigantic amount of disdain you Diablo die hards have for the game. What did it do to deserve such grief? It actually IS a fun game, even if you have to pay. Sure it doesn't have an official 'ending', but that leaves a window open to re playability.. because there really is no end. If you think the game has become mainstream.. well.. yes it has.. It doesn't have the cult following that Diablo has.. and sometimes that pisses me off that 80% of people who play WoW aren't diehard.. they don't read into the lore or even the basic story and I don't understand why someone would pay 15$ a month for a game that they can't comprehend..

I dunno. I think the grief you guys give Warcraft is somewhat unfair.. I mean.. I love Warcraft and Diablo equally.. but they are two completely different games.. with two completely different stories.. Call me Barack Obama, but I think many of you are just bitter that Blizzard hasn't hardly touched Diablo for 8 years.. and has been fawning over Warcraft for all that time. And I'll agree with you.. I am bitter that Blizzard hasn't released a new Diablo game in almost a decade.. but I am not going to take my anger out on other franchises! lol

Yeah i get the idea that alot of people hate WOW just to be hip. It's happened all throughout the ages that something that a ton of people like, is somewhat cool not to like. it makes the people who don't like the widely accepted thing to feel more interesting and gives the illusion of appearing different. WOW is a great game, it's done great things for blizz but if this ISN"T A DIABLO ANNOUNCEM<ENT I"M GOING TO DRIVE UP TO IRVINE (1 hour away) AND GO ABSOLUTELY BAT$HIT CRAZY ON THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can remember awhile back when they were gonna announce a game and everyone thought it was diablo3, they explicitly said "it isn't diablo related, that's all we'll say" but they haven't said anything this time. They know that hundreds of thousands of diablo/blizzard fans are chewing their nails to the bone hoping it's a D3 release.
What i'm saying is i think they would have made a statement to kill this fireball of excitement growing around the net if it wasn't diablo3, so they wouldn't piss off their fans. They've done it before, but they arent saying no this time.... :) :) :)

TYRAEL IS LOST is a good theory with numbers though.

Yeah that one is another of the best theories out there. Then the one with diablo's eyes from the box art of diablo2 matched up with todays pic was great as well. I think we're all getting warmer (no pun intended)

In case no one saw earlier, someone posted this.

Now that the threads are hot... here...

    4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42

    add them together.

    you get...

    108

each vertex angle of a pentagon is 108

pentagons can outline pentagrams, and the angle is the same if you were connecting the sides of a pentagram that the runes would be on.

    Angle Sum -> Vertex Angle

    Total angle sum for pentagon = 3*180 = 540 degrees. So each vertex angle = 540/5 = 108 degrees.

nice work, that would be awesome if you ended up being right about that last number

I dont care if people think I'm cheap, I just refuse to pay $15/month for a fantasy video game.. Why should I let those money hungry assholes make 1000% profit off of me? They should be happy with any profit they get, but they'd rather pump it up with growth hormones, and milk the cow twice as much.. If i have to get raped, and am forced to pay $1.33/litre of fuel; I sure as hell aint going to take it from behind from something that I can simply refuse..

Like I said, if its a worthy game; plenty of people will pay to play. Hence, they'll make plenty of profit even if they charge $5-$10/month.. $15+/month for a game which you already paid for in the first place is just unreasonable..

Money hungry assholes? no it actually costs more to make a game nowadays than it did before. About ten years ago it you just needed a guy to code, and a few artists to make sprites, and you had a decent team. Think of the expectations people have on games now; graphics have to be amazing, the interface has to be intuitive, it needs funding and a producer, the company will need an HR department, management, etc.

On top of that, it needs GOOD artists who arent cheap, because not everyone on the planet is up to the level of quality that the blizzard games deserve. Most artists get anywhere from 40-80k a year, which is about 3,000-7,000/mo and that's just one artist. Multiply that by how many years it would take to make diablo3 (3-6+ years) then multiply that by how many artists it takes to make a game like that.

For a game as simple as lineage you'd need 6+ 3d artists, one or two concept artists, a texture artist, project leads, management, janitors for the building, cost of office space, game designers, interface designers, QA testers, etc. etc. etc. Then you are gonna expect updates and fixes regularly which require all of these people to still be working after the game releases. The monthly thing has to be there to have a good game. Maybe that clears things up as far as why theres a monthly charge on games like this, hope it helps.

    That's a pretty original idea.

They are making battle.net 2.0, this could be the more detailed release about it.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was something kind of like Steam by valve. IF they did end up doing something like you describe.
