posted a message on Reasons why PK should stay in D3. A detailed analysis (long)
    Quote from "Normal" »
Let's name a few ways getting PKed was totally preventable in D2:

    Private games
    Level restrictions
Make a town portal, head to town
    Leave the game

Why this even an issue with some people is beyond me.

EDIT: Also for the record I was never PKed in D2.

A player should not have to go through that much just to play the damn game.

I believe in PvP but not PK. Because the fact is, the vocal minorty should not decide what the majority want. The majority do not want to be randomly killed over and over again. They want to play the damn game with consentual PvP.

Perhaps there should be a hardcore PvP and a hardcore PvE server.

A level 40 getting killed by a level 99 in Hardcore is just sickening.

Now I got a level 40 tesladin, starting on Nightmare. It's tough man.

You people do not read even after two pages of telling you so.

Not everyone has time to read 27 pages, but I did read the last two (as well as the OP) to see where the argument was at, and I fail to see your cause of frustration.

What if the people constructing the place didn't have the budget or resources to make it look that way? What if that's how it -should- look? Just a thought.

    Cheers,
    SmashBoy (like HellBoy, 'cept not)

Seems like a poor excuse. That garg just looks awful. I am not a fan of the petition but most definitely it needs to be changed.

As much as I hate the phrase, it just looks ...WoWish...

The notion of guns is entirely plausable guys. Larzuk had possible inspiration.
If you play Diabo 1 you may notice that Katanas are present. This is an asian weapon design. Then Splint Armor in Diablo 2, which is a type of asian armor. Then you have Xiansai.

Here are examples of asian themed weaponry and armor in D1:

Evidence that futher suggests that firearms are plausable, there is an added asian element into the game that is not discussed, Asia had flame throwers and gun powder, as well as missiles for a thousand years before the time that Sanctuary is themed after.

If Larzuk is suggesting such a weapons he must have gotten the idea from somewhere.

    And again.

This is all taken out of context, we were speculating what Xiansai stood for and I brought up Diablo and his rebirth. It's somewhat relevant in my opinion.

This is a good cultural point. Obviously the world of Sanctuary has many cultures (which we have through various acts) and some Asian themed weapons are indeed in the game. Perhaps cannons could see an entrance.

At this point we just have to remember D2 was developed almost a decade ago by Blizzard North, an entirely different company, whom I am sure had much different plans for the sequel. So Larzuk's hints at new technologies may not come to fruition.

negative, not even fps are good on consoles

PC is greater in every way

sure gaybox and ps3 had better hardware when they came out, but 8 core processors coming in q4 and the 100 series on the horizon, your MAC's that sit under your TVs will be holding people back (once again)

d3 on console == more anger by fans than the art direction has brought

but its bnet so no p2p, but I think d3 and sc2 will both be very soon so people are d3'd and sc2'd out by the time their next mmo comes out so they can hit 20mil subs this time

Some fans may be angry, but I bet you more Blizzard fans (who own consoles but not current PCs) would outnumber them. College students without nice computers but Xbox are a big market.

Also, go play games like GoW, Assassin's Creed, GTA4, CoD4... While most of them may be on the computer, they were initially designed for consoles and console controllers and play better. The Xbox is not even close to a piece of worthless hardware. The PS3 had the cheapest Blu Ray reader on the market for how many years? And the Wii, while I am not personally fond of it, has reached out to millions of older people and people who don't normally game and drawn them into the hobby.

The consoles are far from worthless, they better the industry. Furthermore, with the exception of perhaps WoW, console games sell way more than PC games do. If D3 is portable, then by all means, Blizzard should do it.

Honestly, it would not even effect the final outcome of the PC version if they did it, so angry fans would essentially just be angry fanbois.

PS: Told you D3 wasn't an MMO. :)

It's glad to see some people come around.

I think part of the reason things got so out of hand was because everyone loves to join in on the frenzy.

I challenge most of you to go back and play through D1 and D2 again and then come back to make an educated decision.

D1 was much harder than its sequel.

posted a message on Can't Connect To Battle Net
My copy of D2 is legit, no cracks, no hacks, nothing. Yet for some reason I am unable to connect to battle net. Methinks it has something to do with my Airport Extreme network. I am not bad with computers but just can't grasp any of the concepts with networks.

I have googled the problem but all the solutions are way too technical for me to understand. Can anyone help me?
