Apr 30, 2008Dragnskull posted a message on Diablo3.com becomes Diablofans.com! Blizzard acquires diablo3.com.Posted in: NewsQuote from "topaque22" »This is very good news indeed. It is without the doubt the biggest news concerning Diablo 3.
HOWEVER it was very unnecessarily hyped. The world deal with half the (rpg) web will direct to Diablo3.com?
Um.. no i think half the Web are probably mocking us. I see where the heart is at, trying to revive life into the Diablo Fanbase, but this was very very poor execution. I am happy with the news but very disappointed by the way it was delivered. Unnecessary hype and most of all it actually took almost two weeks to countdown. So we have to naturally assume that the Shadowy character in the banner wasn't anything and the "Xdays until X is shaken" was also NOTHING.
Thanks for the news I like the new site, I like the new domain name, I hate the announcement

thats about the same way i feel, but i wouldnt say i hate the announcement, just as you said earlier, the way it was delivered.
the anouncement is great, diablo3.com being bought? anyone who says blizzard taking over diablo3.com (even if it is justa redirect to blizzard.com) isnt a big deal, is a effin' moron.
if they had no plans to create a diablo3, they would not even bother with the website. why? because it would have nothing to do with anything they are interested in.
with that said, as many are saying, the hype was -way- overdone. it was a good deal, but you probably have a LOT of gamers upset about it.
I knew it was going to be a takeover (talked with Umaro last night telling him i knew it would be) by disecting what they have admited it would and wouldnt be, it was the only logical option, but i was -really- hoping thered be some information blizz would have told them, instead of " this shouldn't be considered an announcement for the Diablo 3 game "
something along the lines of "well, we cant really tell you anything, but you'll be happy with what we do with the domain" sorta responce was what i was hopeing for. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

sadly though, w/ male/female class gender options, i imagine it wont be the amazon anymore, but instead bring back the Archer.
@Dragonov: Healer? no.
diablo has never had a healer class. this isnt wow. we will more than likely see a Support class, like the paladin again. So a priest isnt out of hte question, but he sure as hell wont be running around shooting "Holy Blessing" restoring 150hp's to targeted allie.

i didnt ask about a singer for gladiator/diablo3, and i knew it was a teaser to hype people up. thats a f**king obvious answer. i was asking WHAT the teaser ment, as in WHAT it was hinting to.

go back to wow. in diablo, thats why we have paladins. Assitance, not bllind "OK I ATTACK U HEAL"

Did they ever explain what the teaser was about? I've found the 2 symbols we wernt sure about (The planets one and the "Viking compass" one), they are located inside Cains Journal.
However, they hold no relevence, they are just some random symbols, no explination.
along with that, is the purple pinguinn and the "Lost numbers"
i for one would still like to know what it all ment

also, having a link from blizzards site, thats HUGE in both SEO terms for the webmasters, and community pride.

anyone notice this:
whoever that face is, has red skin.
why? because the blue ice reflecting off him is making him a purple color, purple = red + blue.

'_images/ice5andahalf.jpg' is the next!!!

its also possible the ice has to do with (as many said already) how act5 was the end of d2 and obviously, icy.
1 minute people!!!!!

@shadowbeast: theres a reason why companies release things one at a time, because they know that they will make more money in the long run instead of a burst of cash and then a dry spell.
thats why windows Vista is out now, but before it was even released they were working on Windows 7, however they will not be releasing that (even though they SHOULD) for a few more years, why? because ppl will buy vista. (idiots i admit, but still)
take me for example, i play Diablo games. i LOVE diablo games. im a diablo fan first and foremost, hwoever, after YEARS of diablo2, i purchased WoW. Why? becuase that was the next big game by blizzard. do i like the game? no. do i play it with the same dedication? no. but do i play it and pay for the monthlies? yes (well ok, its expired for the past 3 months, but point still stands)
and the instant diablo3 come sout, i will run strait to it with open arms. they just got the diablo2 cash (49.99 + 49.99 expansion) then years later got another 49.99 + 49.99 + 15/month for 4-6 months out of me, and when D3 comes out, they will get another XX.XX from me. If they released WoW + D3 at the same time/ish, they would have missed over 100 bucks from me.
