I tried researching this information to have a better response. I found a difficult time finding any information on women dominance. Perhaps you have an article you could share? This is random. I was thinking about how we propose to women. We get on one knee and ask them in a bit of a begging very modest way. To me, it seems very praisal of women.

The whole one knee tradition is irrelevant to your argument. It is a pretty modern tradition (so far as I know) relative to the time period you were talking about... the birth of the Abrahamic religions. There could be many many other reasons why that tradition started. Then again, it could be a sound connection... can't really disprove it.

And I think that LinkX was merely drawing a connection... not everything has to be absolutely supported by facts to be believed if it is logically based (religion anyone?).

I guess the defining part of this argument is if you are religious or not, because of all the ties of marriage with religion. Myself, not being religious and instead basing off of what I consider innate human nature, I think sex is just plainly and simply sex... it should be casual and should not be restricted to married couples.

Question: When do people in general start thinking sexual thoughts?

I'd go with puberty... which, as the others above me have demonstrated, usually occurs from 12-16.

That's why you don't have sex until you're sure you're going to be able to stay with said person forever.

Don't you realize that monogamy is not human nature? Honestly... when you look at animals (which humans are, in case you need reminding) and study humans from the past, there is no "one partner" and "life long commitment". Fact of nature is, you grow old, you grow apart, you move on. Personally I think society is backwards in forcing everyone to have one spouse... but I guess I just have to deal with that eh? And I'm not talking one man with a ton of wives; the wives would be free to have as many men as they want too. Sex is just sex.

I lied, I don't believe in monogamy, nor will I ever have multiple spouses. But every once in a while I do look at their point of view, and it does seem to make a lot of sense haha. I do think life long commitments are against human nature but whatever.

Yea the second I read it I thought of the Catholic situation. I think he wants to show how many people would be ticked off and try to close it down if it wasn't associated with religion.

Regardless, I'd probably just take my kid out, make sure he wasn't molested and tell all the parents I associate with. No sense making a huge fuss about it.... if all the parents pull out all their children there will be no one to molest anyway. Problem solved.

Dealing with lawsuits and all is way too drawn out. In my opinion the amount that people rely on their lawyers and sue for everything is absurd. Solve the problem quickly and peacefully by yourself, and move on with your lives.

I think everyone makes way to big of a deal about sex. It's just biological, and it is blown way out of proportion. Humans need sex to survive (obviously) and it is completely natural. I mean, I understand that some people would like to see it kept private but, in my opinion, there shouldn't be anything to hide about it. I'm not saying people should be having sex left and right... more that when it is pictured in the media and in books it shouldn't be such a big deal. I hate over protective parents who try and shelter their children from the notion of sex. That's life.

Going off of that, I think that children were taught about / exposed to sex at earlier ages, there wouldn't be such a mystery about it.

If it becomes casual there's a larger chance (in my mind) that there will be no contraception, so there will be unwanted pregnancies. As well, there's an increased amount of spreading STI's.
In my mind, so long as there is ample education starting at younger ages, and it's not a "hush hush" subject, there is no problem with sex becoming a casual thing. I strongly believe that with better education on it, and more exposure of it, children wouldn't be so afraid to talk to their parents (friends, relatives, what have you) about it, and would actually be more inclined to the use of contraceptives. At the moment, lots of hormonal teenagers are too embarrassed to talk to anyone about sex, while their bodies keep pressuring them into engaging in it. If people were more open about it, it wouldn't be such a big deal...

Obviously a bit of my post is based on speculation, but I guess that's just my point of view. I live by the motto: let each act the way they want, so long as it doesn't harm others. If people wanna have sex, let them do it, and don't make it such a big deal. If you don't agree with me, that's fine... I'll just keep believing what I believe and you can do the same :)

I'm trying to stick around I swear! But to tell the truth, there really aren't that many threads to post in. I have what... ten posts? I still come for the news, but the only threads that I can really post in are off topic ones... like the Linkin Park thing haha.

Trying to be active, but also trying not to make useless posts (or spam). It's a very difficult balance.

Edit: haha my post count is so low I could guess the right number =P

posted a message on What makes Diablo to you?
For me, it always has been and will be all about the items. I've spent sooooo many hours running the same bosses, sitting in trade games, etc.. The constant drive to upgrade your items (even if only from +19 stat to +20 on an anni) was what made me fall in love with the game. I used to get so excited when I was lucky enough to trade an Um and Pul for a Mal... that would pretty much make my day. The tiny little steps and little bargains that I would be able to make to slowly build up riches.... man oh man.

Sure, the simplistic gameplay was a huge factor (else I wouldn't have been able to play it when I was in fifth grade ;)) but for me, the item system is what always had me coming back for more.

Ok that is one person out of this entire website who thinks that there is no announcement of diablo III, anyone else? If there was no d3 announcement, then why would bliz be too concerned about grabbing all the diablo 3 related domains, why would they continue to include diablo in all newsletter statements, why? Such negativity...your wasting your time here, no one will listen to you, especially here.

Aww everyone can have their own opinions. Lots of people are just coming here hoping for some definitive evidence. Myself, I certainly hope it's coming, and I love to take part in the speculation, but I am by no means as convinced as you seem to be. The hype is fun to be a part of, but lots of people are holding out for concrete facts.

Thats whats going to happen. Announcement at WWI, then hands on stuff at blizzcon. Perfect.

Ah I hope it's actual hands on stuff. I won't be able to go either way, but I think it would really suck if they announced it at WWI then just had videos and trailers at Blizzcon. That'd be a sure sign that D3 is still several years away :(

Third for sure. The words stand out more against the background. First one's white softens the image too much and second one's red isn't bold enough (aka black outline of third helps a lot).

Could use a bit more though... the banners are a little simple over all.

    Good luck!

I used to be a fan... way back when they seemed "hardcore" haha. Hybrid Theory was that cd right? yea. I dunno, I'm not much of a fan anymore. I kind of realized that they are basically a boy band with a "rock-ish" background. Instrumentally, they really aren't that good :(

No love for the new franchise? I think I'd want a Diablo MMO more, but still... think about it. A whole new story/world. They'd (Blizzard) be so free to go in whatever direction they want, and I bet it'd turn out fantastic. Ohh the possibilities.

Heck, I'm gonna vote for that even tho I'm all about the Diablo world :)

Edit: ok, after voting I see there is a little love for the new franchise.

posted a message on What kind of game type should D3 be?
I'd love Diablo in it's true form, hack and slash/rpg, but I'll still play it if it's an MMO, no question. I've got lots of friends who only like MMO's, and at last I'd have a game that I could play with them (I'm never touching WoW haha)

True, that might have been a bit of an exaggeration, but it was kind of what I hope more than what I believe.... if that makes any sense.

I finally want a game that can replace Diablo 2, not because it is no longer good anymore, but because it is a bit too addicting. Haha, I have wasted many summers playing that game... I need one that I can trick myself into liking more that won't suck up as much time. Until Diablo 3 of course. When that hits, I will have no "real life".

posted a message on Hellgate, Mythos vs. Diablo
I never played Hellgate, so I can't speak to that. I must say though, being an intense Diablo fan who has just transitioned to Mythos, Mythos is really impressing me. It has lots of similarities that remind me of the glory days of D2, and I think it has a potential to become as good as, or even better than, D2.

The real plus for me, that puts Mythos leagues ahead of Diablo 2, is the fact that it is still being developed and that the devs are really listening to player feedback. This close communication, and the time that the devs devote to listening to and acting upon what the players said, has led to implementation of many new things in the game (ie. new overworld, which looks amazing). Diablo has been lacking this for a long time now... playing Mythos, I find that it's really fun to be playing a game that is still expanding and growing.

Just my opinions of course :)
