Aug 4, 2008FleshEatingCheerio posted a message on Jay Wilson on Art Direction @ KotakuDont judge it till you try it? It's like food. Ewwww it looks gross. *takes a bite* hey, this is delicious. Maybe it works for the game, judge the game as a whole not a clip of it. Eat your peas children.Posted in: News

The new gameplay looks teriffic. It looks to be fast-paced and more varied than past titles. This is a welcome change as watching the paladin do a zeal attack for 2 hours was rather unsatisfying after a few years.
Point and click interface maintained, it did not morph into a wow skillbar click frenzy, the majority of your clicking is still on your opponent(s).
Dynamic terrain and more complicated traps add more depth to the game than ever before, while some agree that the art style is less dark, one can not argue that the gameplay has followed the same route. It is darker than ever. The gore is magnified and the pure horror of some of the monsters is well done.
Hack and slash maintained, it is you vs the world as it should be, which in my opinion was the greatest appeal of the past diablo games.
Skills look magnificent, the fire blast on the Witch doctor has a soul erupting out of it as it explodes, very well done. The locusts leave only bones as they devour their victims and the minions exploding is very satisfying.
Overall I am very excited about this game, but I feel it is my duty to say that the visual feel in some areas was my only concern. And before flaming me about this, look at the many positives I gave before the negative. I don't hate this game, I love it.

Well if this were any other company I would expect complaints to go unheeded, but this is Blizzard. In case you are not aware, blizzard hires people who's job is specifically to interact with the community. While I know this isn't the blizzard forums, I expect they at least taking a glance at it since it still is the first site in google to show up when you type diablo 3, not to mention it has a link from the official site. I make sure to post on the official blizzard forums as well, as I think a lot of people have a problem at this point. Now I am perfectly aware that we saw very little about the game. VERY little. But hey, from what we saw, some are concerned, and how is it hurtful in anyway to voice that? Is blizzard going to take the game away from us... no. Blizzard is concerned with how people enjoy the game, they are concerned with what we think.
On a side note, I fail to see how I am a griefer as I really am only posting suggestions, not boycotting the game or sending hatemail to blizzard. I'm sorry if that offends you somehow, but perhaps if you had a reason why it should remain the way it is as opposed to the proposed changes, we can have a discussion and you can enlighten me.

And for those that are hating on the people with complaints, we are not trying to ruin the game for anyone, we are trying to voice our opinions so that hopefully it can be changed and the game can be as great as it can possibly be. Also, even if it weren't changed, other aspects of the game do seem to be on par for me. For instance, the gore factor really reminds me at points of the original diablo.

As for the comments about being able to solo diablo, this can still be done easily, in fact blizzard did it in diablo 2 already. Basically, the difficulty of monsters in an instance can be scaled to the amount of players in the instance. So, if you want to go in there alone, you can do that and come out victorious with diablo's ear. Or, if you wish to have large-scale warfare against him, get a group of forty, and he can be scaled up to be an even beefier foe. As these are instances, it can vary from party to party. They did this in diablo 2 where monsters grew stronger as more people joined the game, I fail to see why they could not do this for instances in an mmorpg. Anyway, just my thought.
