Zooheaded posted a message on Am I the only one for whom the introduction of ancient items basically ruins the game?I do not think it ruins the game, but I do think it was a poor idea.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Devs claim that Ancient items were for players that already have the best gear and that it's supposed to take them to the next level, yet ancient items can be found as early as torment I. I think in order for this philosophy to work they should be T6 only. What better way to prolong the item hunt then to make the very best items at the end of line when you've already done some major hunting? If you get lucky in earlier Torments it shortens the hunt significantly.
Most legendaries are thrown away unless they fall under the handful of BiS items for each class. Instead of ancient items, I'd rather see itemization repaired so that 99% of them aren't useless. -

Bagstone posted a message on Why finish rifts after guardian is dead? For a looooooooooong time I hated clearing rifts, always wanted to quit after the RG. Since 2.1.2 hit that has changed. If your group has a decent speed the RG dies after 1-2 minutes, so you'll spend 25%-50% of the time in town waiting for the rift to close. Of course you can go back into the rift and kill some more mobs but I really hate that because imagine a mob dies 30 yards away and drops an ancient Furnace... with 1 second left before the rift closes. You could also leave/re-join game, but it doesn't sound like a lot of fun to me to restart a game 40 times per hour. Another reason for restarting was to maximize blood shards and as Jamoose already said, this is not true anymore since most blood shards come from Blood Thiefs.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
The rift key fragment argument isn't really one - learn how to maximize Normal bounties and you can get up to 150 (or maybe even more) rift key fragment per hour (we've done this before 2.1.2, farmed over 1k fragments as a preparation for this patch and it was so insanely fast on Normal).
I'd say it's mainly a matter of preference. A lot of people read too much into it without having collected real data... it'd be interesting to do a few hours of full clears and than a few hours of restarting rifts and compare all the numbers. But you'd probably waste most of your time writing down this data ;-) -

wudijo posted a message on Lightning is dead? I don't think so =)Hi everyone,Posted in: Demon Hunter: The Dreadlands
I know that there are still some people who enjoy the old lightning gameplay and are unhappy about the changes made by Blizzard, and since everyone is talking about how dead the lightning build apparently is, I just wanted to share with you this clip of how it is still working after patch 2.1.2. --> Video (Tier 47 - 11:37).
Given that the highest clear on PTR and live 2.1.2 was Tier 50 so far, I still think that lightning can be a viable alternative to the Cluster Arrow and Multishot builds right now. No ancient items were used in this run.
I also updated the guide in the Diablofans builds section (previously: Meticulous Punishment), and renamed it Blue Tides (for the constant ups and downs of the discipline bar and the feeling of drowning your enemies in a surge of blue lightning), since the Preparation - Punishment rune is no longer involved in the build.
For anyone curious about how it works, you can find all the necessary information here
GG WP Blizzard, let's see how far we can push it =) -

Bagstone posted a message on Furious charge is totallt OP nowPosted in: Barbarian: Bastion's KeepThe lack of single target damage is not an issue of the Raekor set, it's an issue of the barbarian class as a whole. The Raekor set was never meant to be the boss kill set. It's like using a fork to eat a soup... you wouldn't change the layout of the fork, you'd ask the waiter to bring you a spoon.
The Raekor set got fixed and its performance is improved overall (pre-Conduit nerf people were able to clear GR62, GR63 on PTR with it). The reason why the barb's GR performance is worse than before is because of the "fix" of the Conduit Pylon. You can complain about the Conduit Pylon, you can complain about the lack of single target damage, you can complain about the design of the barb class - all legit. But saying that the Raekor set got nerfed is plain wrong as all evidence on PTR and live shows us.
The only real "nerf" to Raekor is the removal of its pulling ability which renders Raekor barbs less useful for group GR runs. But that was only being used by 0.1% of groups anyways (by far the majority of groups used Crusaders for group runs as it required less "rift fishing"; simply look up Diabloprogress statistics).

MeatHeadMikhail posted a message on PTR 2.1.2 - T6 Demon Hunter Spin To Win Build (Video)Posted in: Demon Hunter: The Dreadlands
Quite a few people have asked for this, considering it's faster at clearing T6 than standard M6 setup. 'C'mon man, come up with better trolling next time.'Quote from RasAlgethi24»Another PE/ET build? C'mon man, come up with something else. All you're builds revolve around the same concept.
Edit: to be fair, yes a lot of T6 builds revolve around the same concept. This is no different from any grift builds, which all revolve around the same concepts if you think about it, regardless of class/spec. PE/ET + slow 2H is made for T6. -

MeatHeadMikhail posted a message on PTR 2.1.2 - T6 Demon Hunter Spin To Win Build (Video)Today I want to show you guys a mindlessly fun Demon Hunter Strafe build coming in the next patch. You can make it work on live now, but with a higher damage range crafted Ancient crossbow it'll be all the more effective. This build makes use of the synergy between damage spread via grenades and Pain Enhancer/Efficacious Toxin gems. Add in 60+ Taeguk stacks are you'll see your sheet damage jump up to 3.5 million, with 4m possible after a few Ancient armor upgrades.Posted in: Demon Hunter: The Dreadlands
In this video I go over the build, gear, paragon, and do some speed Fields of Misery clearing. If you want to grind xp, this is the build for you. Enjoy!

jhow4 posted a message on Barbarian Firewhirl Whirlwind BuildWas testing out some various builds on the PTR since I can salvage all my gear every day to try some new combos. Perhaps this has been tried before, but I didn't see anything on the builds section with this setup. It's a way to WW and a bit of a different take on it. I'm sure there are plenty of other better WW builds, but this is was something I was having fun with while trying out different WW builds. This started out when I was trying a "pet" build with Taskers with FC a while back, to no avail, but decided to go another direction with it.Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
This involves the use of The Furnace or Maximus, Hexing Pants of Mr. Yan for extra dmg and Fury building, Tasker and Theo for pet attacks, and a Cindercoat to help supplement Fire dmg and resource cost reduction. Let me know what you all think of ways to improve this build, whether it be for more damage or survivability (yes, I need better optimized gear).
