Jul 6, 2008Zippy posted a message on Diablo III PK and PvPI think the PK system in Diablo 1 sucked. You had no warning and I never got a character ANYWHERE. Every character I started some A Hole would come along and kill me before I even made it to level 2. However they fixed that with D2. It really became PVP. You take your chances but at least you know when someone is hostile towards you. I think the system needs very little changing from 2.Posted in: News

I would watch how you phrase things we don't want another flame fest here.
But I totally agree with the sentiment. I remember the first time I heard people "voicing a negative opinion" about rainbows and I thought...
Rainbows? WTF are they talking about? Did I watch the wrong trailer? There were no rainbows in anything.
Then I continued reading the thread and saw a magnified circled pic. I think some people are over reacting to some background stuff.

You just said everything I was thinking while reading this thread. It seems like either we need some serious information on this or Blizzard still has some hings to work out. It seems to me like it's a little of both.

I thought it was just me, but it does seem to be a trend to rush through things online. I don't know why. It might be tied to the age of the game though. I know i've seen the cinematics and stuff so many times I skip through them.
My first time or 2 though will definately be single player then when I got the hang of it and have picked my class (like it's really a choice go Pallys) I'll hit Bnet with strangers and friends.

And here's my problem with this. D1 came out in 1996 that means it was programmed in 1994 and 1995. That was 14 YEARS AGO! The reason the detail was so minimal was beacuse computers couldn't handle great detail. If you look at D2 you start to see detail that's why they went into lighter areas. Now computers have advanced even more.
Join us in the twenty first century. Computers can do a lot more these days.

No light radius a.k.a. line of site:
I actually like being able to see the surroundings. Yeah the shadowy stuff is neat, but I was always one o pump up the gamma anyway.
Judgement: Blizzard
Too much color (saturation) for a gothic series:
The blizzard pic looks too yellow/orange the fans too washed out, but I get the concept
Judgement: Fan pic
Another saturation example:
They seem just about the same to me just a matter of lthe blue glow all over has been removed. Even accounting for the fact thaat blue is my favorite color and giving a little to the fan since he's altered the image I jus don't know.
Judgment: Draw
Rainbows? Really?:
Pic removed
Not enough dirt/blood/debris for a crumbling, zombie-infested dungeon:
It may be that I;m on my work computer in lousy lighting, but again I don't see much difference.
Judgement: Draw
No dark, scary feel:
Those look like the same pic to me.
Judgement: Draw
Not gritty like it once was:
pic removed
Another grittiness example:
This is a double and unfortunately on the top I like the fan and the bottom I like Blizzard
Judgement: cancels out to Draw
This reminds me of our beloved Diablo series:

I guess I need to stay away from this debate since I don't see much difference in what the big fuss is. I think most people need to realize it comes down to the great improvements in computers. Back then there wasn't that much to see. Now with faster processors and better graphics engines you can have it all. I believe if they were releasing Diablo 1 now it would be a very different game.
