Maybe that's the point of what he was saying. There may not be as many in the real levels thereby giving those that want it their much darker environment.

posted a message on Would you want finishing moves in D3?
Based on the game play video it seems like they're already there. The Seige Beast eating the head of the Barb was said to be a sor tof finishing move. I think it would be neat to include things like that for us players as well. Why should the sword swing always look the same? I don't know how extravigent they could make it though.

I was watching an awesome gametrailer before u tards with magnifying glass started to bitch for a frikin rainbow.. please shut up with the whines.

I would watch how you phrase things we don't want another flame fest here.

But I totally agree with the sentiment. I remember the first time I heard people "voicing a negative opinion" about rainbows and I thought...

Rainbows? WTF are they talking about? Did I watch the wrong trailer? There were no rainbows in anything.

Then I continued reading the thread and saw a magnified circled pic. I think some people are over reacting to some background stuff.

    Ok we're forgetting something here.

How about the characters that will use both magic and phisical skills

like the paladin or amazon of Diablo II

so whats to happen to builds like that, I'm sure that in Diablo III we will also see characters that will use both Magical skills and physical skills as well.
will they be stuck with just a mana counter, or just a fury counter.

or will they have both, depending on what skill they are using. that would be absolutely retarded btw because It would suck to have to find some +mana gear and then some +rage gear or have to put points into the 2.

and if they are infact one in the same and any gear that has +energy will add to both mana and rage, then there is no point in complicating things by having 2 seperate names for the same thing.

You just said everything I was thinking while reading this thread. It seems like either we need some serious information on this or Blizzard still has some hings to work out. It seems to me like it's a little of both.

posted a message on Choosing character names: Player discretion or Blizzard's?
I think that special characters and numbers should be out. I don't mind words or fake words. Basically it should be anything recognizable and easily typeable. basically for chat and such. Of course it may not matter if Blizard can get some sort of friends list type thing. It seems like I've played with hundreds of awesome people then never seen them again cause I can't find them.

Why do people put online and rushing into the same category? I see no reason why you cannot start online, enjoy the scenery and the lore AND your friends and others, without feeling like you need to rush through it.

I thought it was just me, but it does seem to be a trend to rush through things online. I don't know why. It might be tied to the age of the game though. I know i've seen the cinematics and stuff so many times I skip through them.

My first time or 2 though will definately be single player then when I got the hang of it and have picked my class (like it's really a choice go Pallys) I'll hit Bnet with strangers and friends.

posted a message on New Idea for Storage
While it does sound like a good idea for more storage I'm against it. It seems to me D2 had just the right amount of storage. I don't mean this as an attack against you, but the problem of needing more storage only comes from hoarding items. You really don't need that much.

making diablo 3 all colorful makes me want to stay away from the game.

even outside in the blood more and other areas it was dark.

the lightness in Lut G. was understandable, and very enjoyable. they should keep it small, dark-gothic, and minimal detail i m o

    just like the other diablos

And here's my problem with this. D1 came out in 1996 that means it was programmed in 1994 and 1995. That was 14 YEARS AGO! The reason the detail was so minimal was beacuse computers couldn't handle great detail. If you look at D2 you start to see detail that's why they went into lighter areas. Now computers have advanced even more.
Join us in the twenty first century. Computers can do a lot more these days.

I personally like the shots I'm seeing from Blizzard. However I recognize that could just be excitement over the fact that there even just is talk of Diablo 3 so here's my honest evalutaions of the comparison pics.

No light radius a.k.a. line of site:
I actually like being able to see the surroundings. Yeah the shadowy stuff is neat, but I was always one o pump up the gamma anyway.
    Judgement: Blizzard

Too much color (saturation) for a gothic series:
The blizzard pic looks too yellow/orange the fans too washed out, but I get the concept
    Judgement: Fan pic

    Another saturation example:
They seem just about the same to me just a matter of lthe blue glow all over has been removed. Even accounting for the fact thaat blue is my favorite color and giving a little to the fan since he's altered the image I jus don't know.
    Judgment: Draw

    Rainbows? Really?:
    Pic removed

Not enough dirt/blood/debris for a crumbling, zombie-infested dungeon:
It may be that I;m on my work computer in lousy lighting, but again I don't see much difference.
    Judgement: Draw

    No dark, scary feel:
Those look like the same pic to me.
    Judgement: Draw

Not gritty like it once was:
    pic removed

    Another grittiness example:
This is a double and unfortunately on the top I like the fan and the bottom I like Blizzard
    Judgement: cancels out to Draw

This reminds me of our beloved Diablo series:
    pic removed

I guess I need to stay away from this debate since I don't see much difference in what the big fuss is. I think most people need to realize it comes down to the great improvements in computers. Back then there wasn't that much to see. Now with faster processors and better graphics engines you can have it all. I believe if they were releasing Diablo 1 now it would be a very different game.
