My current gear has me stuck with cold and maxing out in T4, I was wondering if there are any fellow wizards that have T5 and or T6 viable builds. Also any skill / gear change recommendations would be appreciated.
I played my Frost Queen build on T5-6 (grouped) for a while and here's my 2 cents:
First thing first, you should really try to get an Azurewrath. Its 20-25% chance to freeze enemies as secondary stats brings a TON of much needed CC and the weapon has %Cold Skills on it by default.
- You need a Mirrorball with 2 extra Magic Missiles and once you do, you need to switch to Magic Missile (Glacial Spike).
- You need to roll that Aughild's bracer with CC instead of Armor
- You need an Amulet with %Cold Skills
- Craft Captain Crimson's boots and get a Tal Rasha Belt to make up for the Source change
- Use Blizzard (Unrelenting Storm) instead of Frozen Orb
- Black Hole (Absolute Zero) is a MUST, MUST, MUST HAVE...
More comments later... I will prolly just post my old "viable" cold build for you guys later...
Thanks for the help, I appreciate it! I can make almost all of the recommended changes. I still need the mirrorball and I have two azurewraths but both rolled without int and a socket so they are not really worth while. Just have to keep farming I suppose. What do you use for passives?

Is there something special about azurewrath btw? It seems like I see an extraordinary high number of Azurewraths without intel. Both in my own drops and those of others.

It only has one random roll (and no garantueed int or socket), so you need that one to be int or the socket in order to get both on the sword.
Since the socket is more important than the int roll, lots of people run around with an azurewrath witout int.
Thanks for the insight Felk!
Would be nice if you could link your armory for research purposes. Other than that, I agree with you. Playing Frost feels a lot safer than those bursty fire builds and the 10% group dmg by chill/freeze is nice to have.
Regarding the f****** wand, I guess you are talking about Wand of Woe?
Greetings Greeqz
Those gloves that are the ice equivalent to magefists that add a nice freeze chance to any cold damage would be really nice too. Hard to roll, rare drop though. Every one I've gotten has been shit.
