I noticed many people (bots) without more then 1 post in the forums.
I was wondering, do they get banned after say a week? (with only 1 or 2 posts)
If they dont, would it be a good idea to make it so in the forums? (if its possible, i dont know much about websites/forums)

I think the reason this forum is getting a lot of bots is because during registration, I don't believe you have to enter a randomized code that bots cannot detect - I think this forum lacks it, if I remember right. I haven't registered here in over a year lol
One day there will be more bots than members or we can make a separate anti-bots squad for clening bot accounts.

Is'nt there any program that just deletes accounts (with a certain number of posts over a certain time)
I dont know much about the works of a forum, hope it isnt a dumb question.

That seems to be the case, if I remember right. Unfortunately Umaro seems to be a bit preoccupied atm with the cancer and all, so that will have to wait I'm afraid.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Yea, it wasnt like i'm really pissed or anything about bots, twas just a question if it was possible. (technically)
First things first ofcourse, and thats Umaro's health.

we could go through and delte members with 1 or 2 post after soo long of being inactive, but umaro wants to keep everyones accounts for the d3.com newsletter that occasinally gets sent out. it is a good way to bring back older people who visited the site once or twice and forgoet about it...so yes it leaves us dealing with the bots but also does help the active member count occasionally. i also think umaro is adding a random letter pic for registration(i noticed a new one on the search funtion)
Maybe they all are waiting for diablo3 and think that diablo3.com has nothing till then.

That is a very good reason, and certainly justifies having all those accounts there.
But, how do you separate simply inactive accounts from bot accounts? Can a global verification be issued or something, like all accounts have to fill out the letters in a picture right now, and if they fail their account is banned after a while?
That could lead to problems and confusion, but is it even at all possible?
