There's supposed to be zero downtime. As always things can go wrong, but that is their plan.

The client has 100% of the expansion content right now. They just have to flip a switch or something/enable the portal, and off we go.

Pretty sure it was this way with MoP launch, possibly even Cata? I can't remember back that far.

Kind of curious for you to ask this on a Diablo forum when there are oh so many WoW forums. But, I guess that's what this sub-forum is for.
