really, if you think leah was bad i thought the part that the barb played was fucking horrible! If this is suppost to be the SAME barb we played in D2 then why the hell doesn't he remember beating diablo's face in once already. Our barb should be walking around with more confidence and cockyness then the fucking wizard has.
I don't think that the male barb is the barb we played as in D2.
I'm pretty sure that this was explicitly stated by Blizzard prior to the release of Diablo III.
This is true. The DII Barbarian and the DIII Barbarian are two different Barbarians.
They originally intended to have them be the same person, but changed it for pretty much the reason that Valkray said: he had prior knowledge and experience dealing with Diablo and Cain. It wouldn't make much sense to have just one of the 10 class/gender combos be all knowledgeable about Hell and the other 9 be totally clueless.
Sure if would have been interesting and awesome if the male Barb was the same as from DII, but it would pretty much turn the male Barb dialogue and storyline into something totally different from the other 9 combos. Where everyone else is saying "Who's this Deckard Cain?" the male Barb is saying "Oh yeah, I know that guy. We go way back."
