IMO save ammy and gloves for last, after bracers and shoulders. I got pretty lucky with my ammy, I think, after only 10 crafts or so. It's not insane but it's better dps than reasonably priced Tals, including the tal I had before.
You can improve dps by changing your build. Drop teleport, DS, and EB for MW+BM (or force weapon if you don't care about more LS), Sparkflint, and some armor spell. Pinpoint barrier is a good option that gives both DPS and survivability. Storm Armor will give more dps, with either SA rune or reactive armor, or even the 130% damage one, but pinpoint gives more mitigation, which helps at higher MP. Otherwise for low MP use scramble with Storm Armor.
I'd also drop prodigy for CM and use Cold snap or Deep Freeze rune on FN, with a preference to Deep Freeze, especially with the mob density increase. The idea of Archon wiz is to stay in Archon form as much as possible. While in that form you can't use your other skills so having half a CMWW build isn't really needed.
For gear, I'd drop the bracers for some crafted ones. Movement speed from gear is capped at 25% so the +MS is almost completely wasted. Also, you'll get more dps from the crafted bracers and APS doesn't matter as much for Archon as CMWW, so DPS is mostly all that matters as far as offensive stats.
