Finally figured out how to do action shots, I think this one turned out well (even though I sacrificed a fourth of my health potion supply for it [was worth it])
That looks awesome! Wish I could take screen shots, but no one ever finished helping me figure out how.
I had trouble with this, too, but I figured it out!
Go to My Documents/My Games/Skyrim and in it, you should see Saves folder, RendererInfo , Skyrim and SkyrimPrefs. Open Skyrim file using Note Pad (it should open it on default with it) and on the top, you will see this:
[Display]
sD3DDevice="Your graphic card model"
Under that, just add bAllowScreenshot=1, and it's all set up! Use Print Screen to take screenshots. Enjoy!
I was super excited when I saw someone might know how to help me! I went to my "C:\Users\MYUSERNAME\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves" but in the folder I don't have any RendererInfo, Skyrim and SkyrimPrefs files.
I have 7 items in the folder;
autosave1
autosave1.ess.bak
autosave2
autosave2.ess.bak
autosave3
autosave3.ess.bak
Save NUMBER - CHARACTERNAME Skyrim 46.02.27
That's it... Whenever I try an open any of these files (with Notepad) it results in my Notepad going "Not Responding" and sitting like that.
I think he means outside the saves folder... as in, in the folder where the saves folder is at. That would be C:\Users\MYUSERNAME\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\. In the folder Skyrim, there should be a file named Skyrim, which you need to edit
EDIT: Personally, I didn't find it. I don't have an original copy though, maybe that's why.
Yes, it is the file outside the Saves folder! It has nothing to do with the game being original or not, it's an .ini file that simply must exist! It has to look like this:
Ah okay, found the file where you said & edited it as well. Now I must ask though, where are my screen shots going? When I hit print screen I still can't hit paste in Photoshop (there's nothing to paste).
Just an FYI here, you know you can also simply press your Print screen button on your keyboard and the screenshot will be saved under something like this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim". Perhaps it's easier to keep your images on steam instead? I don't know
I'm asking on behalf of my friend, who doesn't have a "Steam Version" (if you know what I mean). Print Screen is worthless for him, it does nothing.
