Yeah, the speaking stones. The coolest one was where it shows the Draracle executing Belial.
And Luther is still one of my favorite video game characters. My favorite line of his is when you kill the Huline chief and he goes, "These cats make amusing noises when they die."
It's a shame about Westwood. And Origin for that matter.
Yeah, the second one is kind of hard like that. However, I kind of like the feeling of isolation you get, cause you don't really have anyone helping you, except your monster and lizard form. But especially in the Dracoid Ruins, I love how abandoned and lonely it is down there. Then that whole cinematic where Belial's avatar comes alive and destroys the worm, that was really cool.
I always think of how cool it'd be if they made another Lands of Lore game in the style of Oblivion, with lots of open-endedness. But there isn't much of a fan website out there like Diablo 3 or WCnews to show support for it. It's too bad.
I have two favorite games of all time. One's a space game, and one's a fantasy game. The space one is Privateer, the fantasy one is Lands of Lore. Both these games first had a floppy disk version and were later rereleasd on cd-rom.
This thread is to reminisce specifically about Lands of Lore and I was hoping someone else here has played this amazing game.
I love the graphics, the story, the music, even the way you move about and fight. For an early cd-rom game, the voice talent is actually very well done, besides having Patrick Stewart in it, the unheard of names do a great job as well. Especially if your character was Ak'shell. He was my favorite.
Some of the best games ever I can judge on their replayability factor. And this game I'll never get sick of playing. And it's sad that the franchise kind of fizzled out after Lands of Lore 3. An okay game, yet riddled with bugs. Lands of Lore 2 I actually quite enjoyed. But they all pale in comparison to the first one, still.
The world it was set in was interesting too. I liked the races and the timeline. I don't know, I just have lots of good memories playing that game. And I have saved an older computer, a 486 I think, with DOS just so I can play that and some of my older games without any problems.
