I've done a little mma myself. What it's like? Well, have you ever had somebody trying to teach you how to fight? It's like that. And introductory camp will be focused a lot on teaching fundamentals and technique. The conditioning is a lot like football conditioning, a lot of plyometrics, pushups, bear crawls, e.t.c... Sparring is a little more fun, you'll get to go pretty hard but they will still make sure you arn't hurting each other. So, there's no real fear of getting hurt or anything since safety is a big concern when practicing this stuff. MMA training in terms of what it will do for you in football will probably be the mentality. They carry similar mentalities and it should help you to be more intense on the field. You might even learn how to tackle a bit better when you go to learn how to do a take down, it's pretty much the same technique wise...sorta.
