bloody brilliant my good friend!! well done, thats a proper looking paper now!
i really needed those last few about FDR and the new deal. i was briefly taught that it created jobs and helped the economy, but i see that it wasnt as helpful s advertised now...
the bit on letting the banks fail was absolutely clutch too.
well done...youve saved me loads of trouble, ive only found one good article and it gets dwarfed by this new light...thanks mate.

oi guys, im writing a paper on the economy and how the current branches of govt are working to fix it and so on and so forth...(obama's plan)
im in a bit of writers jam atm.
im stuck on alternative approaches to fixing it (not whats being done currently)
and im stuck on some good sources for the paper, as well as what the govt did in the past to help slow down and recover from the great depression. (im not from america so this part is especially hard)
Vegas, you seem to know a bit (:P) any ideas guys?

but yeah, thats what im saying, Lincoln, great man, but still he gets this image of freeing the slaves. and on top he didnt really care about them, he just wanted to fulfill a more important item on his agenda.

You need to read up the truth on the Emancipation Proclamation.
It didn't free slaves and unite the country. It was supposed to make France and England frown upon the Southern States ownership of slaves. It didn't free Northern slaves and it was only made to look like it was freeing Southern Slaves.. but since the North and South were still split it had no power to free anyone.
The Emancipation was merely a military tactic to get Europe to aid the Northern States during the Civil War and to end secret trade with the South.
well most people think he was sympathetic to slaves when he actually only wanted to keep the union together. he even said that if it were avoidable, he wouldnt have emancipated them.

There are too many people that exploit government "help" programs and don't do jack but sit on their asses. Not to say everyone does it.. but there's a good lot that do.

and yeah, the program i was listening to in the car was talkin bout how americans complain about paying taxes for projected govt services and when they get into a medical accident they expect the govt to supply those services...cognitive dissonance they called it.
lol.
