To above poster and most people asking if you have min specs which most of you do, You will run it at bare minimum and slightly lag or extremely lag when having huge fights and sorry but forget 4 player coop games cause it just aint going to work.

Not only does it require a dual-core CPU (which SC2 doesn't, and it's a very CPU-intensive game with loads of units and AI processing) but it's the first Blizzard game to require a high-range GPU in the minimum requirements (even if they're old GPU models). These requirements are almost equivalent to the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 ones, which is a much more technology and detail-heavy game.
Furthermore, basically every gameplay video I've seen, especially from the F&F beta, has some form of framerate and stuttering issues that make the gameplay frustrating (not even considering latency issues). I seriously hope that some real optimization is going on right now, along with the soon to be added new graphical features and that the requirements will be lower by the game's release, cause this looks VERY underwhelming for a game which prides itself in relying much more on its art style than its graphical technology to look good.
It really sucks that someone who can run SC2 and Cataclysm decently may very well have problems running Diablo III, considering it's a game with such low graphical fidelity (mainly 3D models and textures).
These are just the Beta req's, and not the official req's. I'm sure you don't need this stuff to run it on low. I bet you that most computers from 10 years ago will run it. If they are high it's because this beta is not optomized because it's a beta. Simply put... IT'S A BETA!

I wasn't saying its an odd res or a hard res to achieve playable framrates on, I have a 6970 this thing will make SC2 at 1080p 0 lag until a 400v400 battle comes. But i find it weird that they have a higher than HD resolution for MINIMUM. Some people really don't have HD displays, now you want them to go slightly past 720p? It just doesn't make alot of sense to me. Maybe this will be lowered for the actual game, but still it's odd they have min beta specs at 1024x768
1024*768 is standard for.. I think old 15" screens. The days when widescreen screens were scarce and everything was in 4:3. It being "over 720p" isn't really true. 720p is 1280×720 and gl finding a screens that runs that resolution :).
Also here are some stats pulled from wikipedia on resolution usage (on the internet):
Resolution % of Internet Users
Higher than 1024×768 85.1%
Less than or equal to 1280×1024 77.7+%
1280×1024 14.8%
1024×768 13.8%
800×600 0.6%
Lower than 800×600 0%
Oh I stand corrected I thought because it was more than 720 pixels wide it was bigger than 720p, guess not because of the Aspect ratio and length in pixels. Good info though. Now I see why they made that move, although I'd want to see what D3 looks like at 800x600 just for some nostalgia.
To athene_wins all i have to say is... I have a 1080p screen and run it fine with a 6970... Don't make fun of my bunnies just cause your jealous. and your phone certainly does not have a higher res than 1024x768. Highest right now is apple's retina display.
