Well I think it's pretty clear that the general community thinks there should be a new mod (or several). I think all that's left is for the current staff to figure out who (s)he or they should be. Whoever and however the decision is made is the staff's business.
Make me amod , make me a mod , make me a mod , hey , i'm not a bot.
Please Do Not Ask To Be A Mod here. I've already made it clear once that I find it disrespectful, and I don't want it done in my thread. I have problems with you Zubin, and you can ask to be a mod all you want - just not in this thread.
flame is the bigger problem i think, but generally if people thought about, i mean really thought about what they are going to say most of the heavy flame wouldnt exist. most people here are pretty good at that, but i cant stand it when i thread about something like what classes might be in D3 turns into lunchtime in the elementry school yard. i want to see what people would like to see in D3, why should i have to put up with people resorting to childish name calling.
I usually just delete most of it, but im kinda falling behind lately, ive been working longer and harder hours and im rather beat by the end of the day.
Exactly. Maybe you should set up a group of moderators (like two or three people) who's jobs would be to help monitor posts and reduce spam, bots, flame-wars, and thread necromancy. They may even help put an end to childish arguments while still remaining neutral. The biggest problem with these conflicts currently is people taking sides and joining the arguments themselves. If we had a few neutral problem-solvers, the situations might be difused earlier. This would allow you and the other staff to take care of bigger, and more important, matters.
As far as getting rid of useless threads that belong in the spam section, I think the mods do a good job of getting rid of those. When people are acting like idiots and are flaming/trolling, well, there are lots of users willing to give those people a logic smackdown. At any rate, it certainly wouldn't hurt to have another moderator.
Agreed. I think the case with these forums is that at the moment another moderator isn't necessary, but there's no harm in reducing the workload for the current staff.
It doesn't matter how perfect you are for the job. I believe that asking to be a moderator is rude, and I'd prefer it not to be done in here. If you need to ask to be a mod, do so in a private message to an existing authority figure. This thread is for nominating others. (This rule also extends to explaining why you should be a mod).
Now that that's over, I'd like to whole-heartedly agree with Pepsidude's list of moderator requirements. (Perhaps you'd like to explain some of your criteria though, just in case some of them are a little vague).
Okay guys. It's obvious that there are some conflicted views on this issue. I, for one, would like it cleared up as soon as possible. The question is simple... Should there be a new moderator (or moderators) and if yes, who should they be?
Please choose yes or no above, or if you really can't decide, pick maybe. Also - if you answered yes, post who you think should take on the duties. (Remember, you can choose more than one!)
I voted yes, and am going to nominate AcidReign for the position of Moderator.
Now, let's see what happens.

Something you want to tell us Umaro?
Haha, nice man. Perhaps Umaro is just Smokey in disguise!
And yeah - Evidence, do not... ever... ask to be a mod. (Especially not in any thread of mine).

No Asking To Be A Mod.
