Pay-to-Play seems more conducive to the fat geek-a-nerd type that I don't like playing with. Those people can have World of Warcraft. I don't mind the inconveniences that come with D2 being free. It's all worth it to me.
Oh man! I think I just may have come up with something that Diablo 3 should feature that no one else has thought of yet. I'm not willing to go searching right now through the thread to see if it's been suggested, so if it has, someone just tell me later, but I think think may be new.
It occurred to me as I was describing my latest character build and I realized how difficult it can be to lay out in detail how one might build a character with all their stat points, skill points, and items. So I thought, how cool would it be if at any time in your character developement, you could hit a hotkey that saved all of your character's information into one text file. And you could have it all be either abbreviated with all the little Diablo build notations and appreviation, or have it all spelled out manually. This way, when someone wanted to know the details of a build, we could just hit the key, then just like a screen shot, it would automatically save all the build information, items, and even inventory into one long list. It would specify what damage you are currently dealing, what your combined resistance is, all the different stats of all your gear, everything.
I just think that would be horribly convenient and would also allow players to more quickly assess the types of builds they would like to make. And people would be able to post this stat information easily onto forums so other players can make comparisons.
I know as it stands you can make screenshots of your character's gear and stats, but never before have you been able to capture all information on a character in one single file short of doing a lot of copying and pasting.
So how big do you think the stash should be? Limits make it challenging, at least in some games.
In Diablo 2 multiplayer at least, I don't think it makes it more challenging to have a limited stash. It just forces everyone to have mule accounts. So in other words, everyone has found a way around the stash limit size. It's just that it's kind of a pain in the ass. It's not challenging.
I think they're a fuss just because they're finite and that can be sort of annoying. But in the first Diablo, as long as you had a bow equipped, you would automatically have arrows.
This is why the lack of mods totally pisses me off lately. If things were actually functional around here, that post would've been deleted and that user would've been given at least a temporary ban. So for now, it will just have to suffice that I call him a pig fucker.
I wish you could revise the list by getting rid of the stuff that either is too unrealistic or things that don't make sense such as this suggestion, " -more ethnically diverse npcs, where are all the Norse, Scandinavian, Irish, and Scottish npcs"
yeh you can move through summonables and hirables but im talking about playables. i.e other players.
That's funny. I'll simply not go to the Maggot Lair with other players. Especially in Hell. Cause I'll get a Sorceress behind me doing all her spells while I'm in with my Assassin doing melee attacks, but if I need to retreat so I can use a potion, they'll just stand there in my way and then I die.
maggot lair is so annyoing, its so small and everyone acts like idiots in there.
if it was two squares wide instead of 1 it would have been better, least that way you could run passed people and not just stand there shouting "move bitch, get out of the way"
I agree that's a problem with other players. But you can walk right through summoned units can't you?
They should never have a location like the Maggot's Lair again.
there needs to be a system to orgnize the movement of your pets. the necromancer needed that in diablo 2 sooooo bad.
His summoned units? I thought they moved around just fine. Maybe not so great in the beginning, but after a few patches I never had any complaints with them.
how could there be Diablo in D3? when he died in D2, you destroyed the soulstone (right?). he turned to dust (or ash). wtf? come back from death, sure, but to rise from the ashes? is Diablo a fucking phoenix or something???
Teen angst aside, I actually agree with you on this. But it is unpopular around here to say that Diablo shouldn't be in Diablo 3. But I'll keep saying it till the day of Blizzcon, the next Diablo game is going to be a prequel. My prescience says so.
