Eh maybe the shoulder armor, pauldrons, are a little big. But the necro had huge skull/spikes on his shoulder for some armor types in D2. I guess this just doesn't really bother me.

I agree we all need to stop giving Bill the attention he craves and just shun the guy already. Posting news items about him only makes him stronger, after all.
Here's a couple shots to remind everyone of the carebear esque rainbowland bs we're gonna have to put up with in D3 since this is somehow still getting attention:
Totally agree with the statement about Bill Roper!
Are you being sarcastic about the comparison??? Please tell me yes.

Thanks for not getting your panties, er boxers.... whatev you wear, in a bunch. It's nice to discuss things with people who are open minded and don't retaliate to an opinion with "yer stupid you don't even know anything about Diablo, noob!" lol k maybe a lil dramatic, but not in some cases
I think it all comes down to opinion. For me the "spirit" of diablo was the gameplay, and other stuff i mentioned, but for others different things "made" the game for them. When those things get changed, sometimes it's hard to accept that with open arms. Maybe it'll grow on people just like XP did, and Vista will.

What I was trying to say is that DII never was photorealistic, it's just darker other games, but, honestly, a photorealistic game is boring because it does not allow the flight of fantasy, and if I want to see something photorealistic I can just go outside.
Thank you.

Kenzai: Why yes, of course I agree with the point that I said I agree with!!
I'm just sad that so many people are so whiny about the graphics.(not flame, just my feeling) Good graphics in video games are awesome (I'm not saying D3's are bad at all) but what really makes the game is the game play, storyline, and re-playability. There is more to the experience than eye candy.

Yes i agree that D2 felt slightly different than D1. I would also agree that D3 will be different from the two previous installments, but it really comes down to what made the game great for the individual. People like these games for different reasons. It really doesn't bother me that the models and environments are not super realistic(I think they look great). I don't play video games because they are realistic. I liked the items, social aspect, fast-paced action, skills, and storyline of D1 & D2 and all of that is only being improved upon so I'm stoked.
I'm really excited about the way the game looks too. I like the visuals.
I can understand why people aren't happy if the realistiic visuals and detail are a part what made the game for them. For me though, it was more than just extensive graphical detail.
I don't play WoW cause it's so damn slow. I hate clicking once and waiting for my guy to kill something, then running 3hrs to a new town or quest. That gameplay is just boring to me. Also, grinding is sooooooooo lame.

So do we actually all agree now that the style of the previous games were different in some ways while this isnt necessarily bad but is the reason why some who loved it more are mad?
I can agree with this!

I agree that Diablo 2 aimed for highly-detailed photo-realism (which a 2D game can afford), and Diablo 3 aims for stylization (assuring a timeless quality). But they share the same spirit despite the difference in style.
Well said. Thank you for making this point.

ok..it's just funny to me ><

Did they really make the Wizard look that overpowered? I didn't think so.
Yeah i agree. I don't think it's fair to say that any class is overpowered at this point. All we have seen are demonstrations and some Blizzcon demo footage.

I think Roper is right that the game is not the same as Diablo 1 or Diablo 2. That's because it's Diablo 3. We also need to keep in mind that there is a whole new team developing this game.
I think Roper was just trying to say that it is not the same as what he would have done, which is fine.
There is no reason to argue that people, who like what they've seen of the game, are crazy obsessed with Blizzard and will like anything they produce no matter what. The same could be said about people who side with Roper and say the game doesn't stay true to the Diablo look or style.
I think we need to get over the fact that the game, so far, doesn't look exactly like Diablo 1 or 2. It isn't going to. What we should do now is look at the ways that they have tried and are trying to give it the "Diablo" look and feel. And remember, we have only seen a fraction of the game so lets try to be positive.
I mean, Diablo 2 came out 9 years ago. Gamers wants have changed and I think they are trying to appeal to a broad range of tastes by giving new comers some of what they love about games nowadays, while trying to give Diabloers what they want. That's one tough cookie. I can''t wait to taste some more of it!!!

I think he says, "I didn't look at it and go, oh my God that's horrible." too many times. I agree with Mockery that we have barely seen a glimpse of the game, and that artwork, with the crows n stuff, even though it isn't gameplay, is still very dark and very grim. All we can do now is wait until we get some more content. I like the idea of the game starting out a little more light and colorful, Wizard of Oz-ish and progressing to Nightmare on Elm street.
I think it would be cool to see the game Blizzard North would have created and compare it to the Diablo 3 that we are going to get.
I love what I have seen so far. Keep it up Blizzard.
