Calling me stupid doesn't make you correct, didn't we already talk about that?
I didn't call you stupid. I said, "That's stupid". Way to go.
You think piracy is... bad?
I hope that's sarcasm. Cuz if it is. I believe a verbal asswhooping is in order *cracks proverbial knuckles*
A simple understanding of supply and demand gives you an idea of why piracy is bad. If piracy is rampant, then that means that supply is up. This causes a decrease in demand. Less demand, less money. That means that game companies have less reason to develop games and gamers have less reason to buy them. In closing, the end results of piracy are bad for both sides. I will speak no more on this subject.
I still consider D2 as the mother..and father of all modern RPGS.
Yeah, let's not give any credit to the people who started the franchise.
Diable was the first rpg to break out of the gay stereo type fantasy with all the elves, dwarfs and bud-headed races.
That's a bold statement for someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. Seeing as I only need to name one RPG that conflicts with that statement to prove you wrong, I will do so. Chrono Trigger
Diablo had that grim dark feeling to it and there was NO JR TOlkien viking mythology raped bare fantasy CRAP included. Thats why we all got addicted to it.
You know...one could say just the opposite in the same fashion and convey just as logical a point. Not that it was a logical point, or anything like that. So don't get delusional.
ALl the prime evils are dead..and we know blizzard aint lame enough to make some miracilous prime evil ressurection.
Oh man, that almost makes me wish that they would do that just for the irony. Quite the unfounded point, you dolt. Can I get your number, so I can leave a 5 minute voicemail of me laughing at you, in case they do? Cuz if there is one thing I love doing, it's proving people wrong.
Isnt it clear that diablo got famous for NOT being stereo type fantasy?
That doesn't quite work. Last I checked, it sold millions of copies for great gameplay and decent plot, having nothing to do, necessarily with something as trivial as races. If you want a statement like that that would work, here's one:
People hate you because you are NOT shutting up about trivial, unfounded bullcrap.

Diablo isn't even an RPG. It's a hack&slash thing.
It's classified as an RPG all the same. But you make a good point. How can it revolutionize some that it barely has anything to do with?
Quote from "blothammer" »
diablo is as classical third person rpg as you can get. In fact diablo2 sets the pace for MOST modern third person rpgs.
Name 10. If it's so 'pace-setting', you should have no problem with that in a genre that has hundreds of titles produced after Diablo 2.
A bit of history from us old timers: RPG as in role playing game does not referre to playing "a role" of a hero..right? Role as in role of the dice.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Quote from name="dictionary.com entry "role"" »
a part or character played by an actor or actress.
Seeing as that ties in with the very idea that you refuted, you have no ground to stand on.
Quote from dictionary.com entry "roll" »
(in certain games, as craps) to cast, or throw (dice).
You got the words mixed up, you dummyhead. It explains your confusion, but it also makes you look like an butthole.
DOnt argue with an old timer mate.
If you're an old timer, then how the freak do you mix up two words like role and roll?! "Role-playing game" is how the term has been spelled since conception. So, you've either got old timer's disease (alzheimers) or you're a kid that is very likely to freak up on an English vocabulary test. Way to lie about your age, kid.

I mean most of the things he says are agreed upon in this forum
He's aspiring to be as revolutionary as Diablo 2 apparently was. And so far, neither are looking to revolutionary.
redundant.

Piracy doesn't break sales, lol.
So you're saying that stealing games from the owners and manufacturers of it doesn't mean less sales? Then why are people so pissed about things like Limewire? That's stupid. As well as off-topic.

RPGS as we now it prolly has the longest history in gaming (except for strategy).
'Prolly'? Nice cop-out, you pansy. Not only that, but you're wrong as heck. Name the genre of the first video game conceived. If you were referring to gaming as a whole, refer to the first board game, by all means.
To the little mister spellchecker. You know, some of us has jobs and can not afford to waste our precious money earning time to check spelling in a forum full of moaning children.
If the questioning of your inability to write proper English also brings into question the validity of your point, then it is more than reasonable to correct you on it. Since you can't see the difference between the defined spelling of Role-playing game, and the definition of roll in contrast to role, then you have even less ground to stand on than you did before. So...I wonder how much ground that leaves you with...oh wait...there is none. I wonder how you're still standing!
Why are you hung up on the idea of conventional RPGS?
Because they think that the real father and mother of RPGs deserve more credit than a game that hardly qualifies as part of the genre.
Think logically about it and go read that damn wiki link I gave ya. Get some friggen back ground before you argue with the old guy eh???
Speaking of background, way to not understand the etymology of the term role-playing game. Not only does no one like you, but no one likes your argument.
Just a tip: The entire world aint out to getcha, so try not to take offence when somebody offers you a good chunk of constructive criticim..PERIOD! LMAO
No, but the entire forum is out to get you. After all, you're the one preaching thoughts that came out of your ass. Besides, your argument isn't a constructive criticism of a person. So, the tip isn't even necessary. Not only that, it's just plain unwanted. Just like you.
I thought the whole point of this all is but a simple discussion eh? lmao
Then, once again, you have fudged up your epidermis once again. See, a simple discussion is not a discussion amongst lower IQ'd people, such as yourself, it is a discussion of conventional ideas that make sense. Seeing as nothing you say is coherent, I'm believed you assumed the former.
There have been confirmed legitimate leaks from blizzard employee's that D3 was indeed created and finished and then scrapped. There are also confirmed legitimate leaks from blizzard employees that it is being completly remade. Ask Gaming Steve personally or go to his site. He has immediate connections to blizzard and several of their employees are his personal friends. While he cannot legally state it he talks about it using a fake company and game name in a way any idiot can understand.
First of all, judging from the report, Diablo 3 was never scrapped. The belief is that Blizzard is reworking it until it is perfect, and are not in a rush to release it after the fiasco with Starcraft Ghost.
But this is uncredible source from anonymous sources. I could do just as well by taking a dump and doing a telepathic interview with it. When he shows proof of his overall credibility, then I will believe him. Although I would not be surprised in the least at the release of a Diablo 3, if someone is just going to pull that statement out of his ass, then he better have cited sources. Yes yes, he doesn't want to risk his friends' jobs, but there is no point in publishing this information unless he has proof.
Ummm we have shown you tons of proof that Diablo 3 is almost positivly in the making. And instead of always saying crap like it's not true and bla bla bla, why don't you show me some proof that it doesn't exist?
Most of the proof was dismissed as bullshit, however, there is a large amount of evidence showing that there is definitely some kind of Diablo-esque game in the making. Too early to make a call on, though.
I would just like to begin with this quote, so you retards who I will quote after this one, can refer to it for personal reflection and may come to the conclusion that they should kill themselves.
Besides, they have a trademark for Diablo1, Diablo2, LOD, and another one, filed December 2005, that specifically covers another Diablo title. I.E. not an expansion pack.
Sounds like proof to me.
Do you have any Diablo 3 proof?
See where I'm going with this?
okay there is NO D3 proof at the moment, so w/e
The presence of stupidity here is like a Duracell battery. It just keeps going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going.
Has there EVER been a legitamit Speck of proof that d3 is in the works? ...
Listen, Captain McEmopants. I understand that you may be pissed off at all these newbs and (redacted) that claim they know that D3 is coming out, but don't jump to the opposite side of the argument, just because of them. Of course there isn't significant proof of this game, perhaps not yet. But whether or not this game is really in development or not, doesn't not pertain to when they will release a story on it. Hell, if they play their cards right, they could keep it secret till release. But right now, it could be just part of a power play, so that when they release a story, close to the release of the game, the hype will be fresh and people will be shitting their pants to pre-order a copy.
Don't cut yourself just yet.
