As secretary of defense, I'm planning some big security methods and structures. Oh by the way, I want you all to call me Sheriff from now on. Lol just kiddin, but that'd be awesome.
I really want to make a training area for combat so that can be my first project for you
That sounds cool. I've played around a little bit with archery ranges in single player and it's quite fun to improve your bow aim. With some good planning and enough materials you could even have moving targets.
2. How will decisionmaking and freedom be handled? I know we all get a 20x20 spot to build whatever we want on, but for instance if I want to do something else? IE: I built my house on my 20x20 spot somewhere, but then I want to build a 1:1 replica of the Eiffel tower (just an example :P). Who decide if I can do that or not? Do you have to get clearance for everything you build outside of your 20x20 spot?
I'm really looking forward to the server.. I hope the update will be as great as I hope it will. edit: wtf..? that was a stupid thing to say.. but yeah..
Lol? Thanks for the inspirational speech. The reason why we wanted power is because A) organization, recreate society, and C) to lessen chaos. We want people to work toward goals and have people with roles, and people above them who leads that field, and have the town leader who acts as the general leader. Besides, we appoint new leaders. This is a republic, not a monarchy.
Lol? I'm just voicing my opinion on the matter, not trying to give some speech.
I never said you wanted a monarchy, just used king as an example. Of course I agree that we need organization and we have. Haven't you read the first post? We already have different positions for people to organize things. Certain people will have more "power" as in the power to make decisions about how we should achieve our goals.
About "B )" I don't really know.. why do we have to recreate the real-life society?
No there aren't any restrictions. We just don't want chaos going around. We would rather have set jobs titles to expose people's expertise rather than have pure anarchy. The job titles aren't restrictive. They are simply there to be there.
Also, the village leader would be a trusted person who will lead the village in the right path. This isn't a monarchy though. I think you all took this way out of proportion.
Read the OP again, it has been edited. This is what we are aiming for.
And I don't think you want a monarchy, it just sounded like you wanted to artificially create a society with a set hierarchy instead of letting it grow and build on its own.
I don't think we really disagree with eachother. We need positions for organization and some decision-making, and with the structure Scyber has made that should work just fine
Why do you want this? I see this game in its multiplayer form as a game of collaboration. Working together to build something that everyone can enjoy.
Sure you could build a society with a set hierarchy if you wanted to, but I just don't see the point in doing that just for the sake of it.
Also, "power" is not something you can just create. I mean, you could say someone is a "king" but that doesn't give him "power" by default. Should some people have different rights compared to others on the server? We have the different positions to get a good structure, and that already gives certain power to the ones with higher ranks. Power as in responsibility to organize people. Isn't that enough?
I recently purchased the game and it's all cool stuff!
Although the game itself is nice in singleplayer I miss that interaction and feeling of actually contributing to something greater that you get in a multiplayer world. So yes, I'd love to play on a DFans server.

It seems the portals aren't working in multiplayer either, but that should be fixed soon enough.
Also, a reply on my previous questions would be nice
Yeah, I just read that :/ a bit disappointing, but heck, it's alpha still. Hopefully they'll get it in shortly after the update.
The questions now is whether we should start the server or wait for multiplayer health to get implemented.

Showing off the different kinds of biomes to be added in the update.
I also have two questions about the server:
1. What will it run on? A dedicated server?
It was a nice video.. soothing somehow.
