No religion is peaceful. Even if there is no war, because the goal of religion is not to practice it in privacy between you and your God, it's to convert and convince others. Which is attacking others belief systems directly or indirectly, to be technical.
There is however a difference between peaceful and pacifism, which I think is being jumbled up here. You can have a peaceful nature but if someone attacks you, you can defend yourself. I don't consider attacking other nations as "defense" by the way. To defend is to drive away assault or injury, not pursue the attacker to prevent future conflict. Pacifism though I think we all know seems to be more of what Equinox is describing. Complete opposition to war or violence, and any form of them are unjustifiable.
