I wouldn't mind any transactions, as long as you still have to work to get good. Perhaps you can buy double XP moments or other temporary buffs.
They did this with Battle Field : Heroes and it destroys one aspect of the game for people. Leveling. Leveling is half the game (also it's contradictory to your "work to get good").
I guess I was thinking too much about MMORPGs, where leveling = grinding. Spending money to speed it up is not a problem in my opinion. The Diablo franchise is not as grinding intensive, so it won't fit there.
I still stand with my opinion that micro-transactions are good as long as you don't get an unfair advantage over other players because you simply spent more money.
I personally don't care what they do on this note, as long as Blizzard and Blizzard only does it. I don't want to see/hear about people getting ripped off from these basement services. Overdoing the services would include power leveling and hard-earned gear, but it's there decision really. If they could find a way to incorporate microservices without giving players advantages over each other, (thus collapsing the market) I'd be fine with it. But then they would be microservices eh... whatever.
