i was just reading some stuff that i find very interesting the graphic jobs blizzard is offering are all calling for people who know how to make 3D characters so i think it would be safe to say diablo 3 will probably have 3D graphics
I don't think 3d would work very well..lol
they should stick with the good old graphics of Diablo 2!

You fucking retarded ass sonofabitch! You seriously think you could cast a fireball at Gheed just because you were a n00b137 enough to gamble in the beginning of the game? Well i got a few words for you: NOT IN TOWN, MOUTHAFUCKA!
2.5D is the best thing I have heard. FPS graphics may hurt the Diablo feel.

Because if the invisible guy the president believes in isn't the real invisible guy then the real invisible guy gets mad and no longer powers our economy with his invisible hand. Jesus, have you never even read anything about economics?
i would also like diablo in 2D but when the opening for jobs in blizzard include 3D environment artist, 3D character artist, 3D character animator i am led to the possible conclusion that diablo3 may very well be 3D, i just hope blizzard know what they're doing
I'm sure when they are creating this epic game they will not disappoint us only b/c if they screw this up they will ruin the bizzard name and ultimately turn down so many fans im sure whatever they do this game will kick ass 3D or 2D ...
First time here, when i saw this news i almost fell over at work......im 36 years old, and i consider the whole Diablo franchise to be THE BEST video games of all time (along with Sid Meir's Civilization games). Ive been playing D and D2 since the old days. Now though, with a wife and little girl, maybe an hour of D2 a day if im lucky, a little more on the weekends.
ANYWAY, BACK TO MY POINT, although ive never PLAYED WoW, please dont make it a 3D Massive Multi type game PLEASE!!! D, and D2 are great just the way they are. I played Ultima Online 100 years ago and was BORED SILLY after 5 minutes. Nothing to do, no goals, no purpose.
WITH D2, you punch in for an hour, do a couple baal runs with some fellow gamers (or solo if yer a hammerdin like me..heh heh), do a few summoner or countess runs (for keys) then PUNCH OUT feeling completely satisfied! (at least until the next day).
SURE D3 should be different, thats the purpose of making it in the first place! BUT DONT change the whole platform that would be INSANE. Its so good the way it is. The fast paced action is what we crave! The pit/Masoleum runs that you do over and over and over and over to find items (at 350% MF of course) are addictive. You want to do just ONE MORE run before you call it a night! To me this is the EXACT OPPOSITE of Ultima (and WoW?) a slower paced, long-term investment that people such as myself just DONT have the time for.
Anyway, nuff said. Good to be aboard. Thanks for having me. Oh yeah,
IF IT AINT BROKE, DONT FIX IT!

i agree completely. I used to play d1 more but the latency pissed me off 1 day, so i played d2 more.

I been dreaming of D-3 now for about 8 months. I have writen down some cool ideas that I hope are in it.
like:
12 characters. Where you are able to use 2 offencive abilities instead of one. or able to use 2 or 3 defencive abilities instead of one.
Or A secret level that deals with more than just cows you know. Like ants, Dragons, or even love bugs... Uhh... Well that was just a thought. nah but for real i think they should keep the cows but just add somthing more to do. i mean make it to where it doesnt consist on jumping through a portal and slaughtering hundreds of cows an then going off to do it somwhere else when your finished.
They need more than just 4 or 5 acts. I think 6 would be plenty.
The characters should be able to get up to lvl 200 instead of 99.......no?...................maybe... at least 100 i mean 99?c,mon now.
And the computer enemies need to use more intellengance than just raw power. Atlest one.
I would also like to see a better bartering system. Like a merchaint that can challange you to a fight for certain Items maybe.
Definatly more types of armor and weapons to have a better variety of characters. like make it harder to see two characters playing online who look the same............
Armours and equipments must look aggressive and unique. I dont quite like what they did in D2 how when your character is holding a paladins spectre, the character outview looks like hes holding a mace. It doesnt looks exact like what he/shes actually holding or wearing. Even the armors they are wearing. In D3, blizzard should repair all that and make it even realistic. I dont quite care about the gloves and boots much, maybe they should give your character atleast some kind of change in appearence when you wear them.
Unique or relic weapons has its own unique special magic attributes (like Armageddon Sword in D1) , that you will not find from characters available. This will help players to have a will to look for them and making the game even more interesting and addicting.
I always thought about having a special armor(like a breast plate)that can be worn and can do somthing no other armor could do, somthing CRAZZZY. give a unique look to it like the armor that guy in the town of act4 wearsin d2(Huldau, something like, that i know it starts with the a H). there would only be one set of this armor and it could never be lost, but there would have to be a way for someone to get it taken off of them so the first person to find it first cant keep it for eternity(like.. "so whos wearing the "special" armor these days")of corse it wouldnt be called special armor, it would have a name.
or maybe a speacial sword... in the same idea of the armor... or both
^^^^^yea that last idea could use a little work
i have so many more, just cant really think right now. all i know is that when this game finally does come out to buy its gonna be freaking awsome and im gonna turn into a hermit crab and not leave my computer for 2 weeks.

Just some of my ideas and some I like, if you care:
I like the Heaven vs. Hell idea :). Angels vs. Demons. The Heavenly vs. Evils. You should be able to choose a side. Items should use this concept as well. I would ask for an Immortal Potion, for battling the higher-ups. This should be a rare item. I don't think there should be a level limit either :). I have other ideas, but who cares, lol. I'm just waiting for the game to come out, hopefully.
Just reading through this topic, lol. I think D3 will be in 3D. I just hope they texture the objects right. I mean, you look at Wow and some of the textures are off.
Well, ~5 years since D2LOD, I think it'll be good. They could've spent a year on just designing the game, another year for researching, planning, and design, another year to start modeling and texturing, another year to model and texture to make sure everything is high quality, and another year to...design, this year to prepare everything like demos, servers, etc. Ahh, it's been too long. We're due for Diablo 3 now!!! I guess speculation is always fun though.
I just realized that Diablo 3 isn't even close to being finished. Infact, it isn't even started, lol. Take a good look at the job openings at www.Blizzard.com. You'll notice that they are looking for "Lead" artists, programmers, designers, etc. This means they need those people to LEAD everybody working on the game. They must have "exceptionally skilled" or "experienced" people. I could be wrong, but it looks like these are high pressure and demanding jobs. And of course, there are many people willing to create works of art for any Blizzard title. So, release date...2006, no. Maybe 2007. I hope I'm wrong because I don't want to wait that long. But then again we've waited 5+ years, lol. What's a few more, right?
Funny thing, they're looking for a "Recruiting Manager".
