I've seen alot of people saying that the Samurai should be in D3 cuz in the D1 there are some Asian style weapons and armor.
I think that since is was the first game and takes place in one area (which means to me that Blizzard hasn't fully created the world of Sanctuary and all the people in it). The odd thing for me is that I haven't seen any Asian style items in D2 or D2:LOD. With that in mind I think that the Asian items in D1 was put there for look and not for a race in the world of Sanctuary.
What do you think?

I also want to know any theories about the island called Xiansai. Someone said that it is an asian word so that might mean an asain culture in D3. but the location of the island doesn't make scence for an asian culture to live there.

it seems everyone doesn't want the Samurai to be apart of D3 and i agree. but i would like to see if anyone can find a good reason that the Samurai should be in the game.

A samurai would just be an asian styled warrior. In Diablo 1 you see the Warrior class which in the case of the one we play in game is relevant to the specific area around Tristram. In Diablo 2 you see the Warrior several times but with changes according to culture. To see a samurai is not entirly out of question as an npc or a merc but as a playable class is very unlikly because of the lack of an asian culture in sanctuary (at this point). I suggest reading the Warrior description in the Diablo 1 manual if you dont understand what im talking about. To answer the question.... no.

"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."
The samurai would be a swordsman/bowman giving him two skill trees right there, kinda like the replacement for the Amazon only swords instead of spears. Samurai were the most advanced warriors of their time, I see no reason why they cant be the new ranger class, there were even women samurai. I ask you, what would be a better class replacement for the amazon?
It's not that they are a good replacement or not. its how they fit into the diablo lore. the only history of an asian like culture in any diablo game is a few items in D1. there is no other place (books or games) that have any asian like culture. For the samurai to be in D3, Blizz must create a whole new storyline for the culture.

The item arguement is not very valid because the franchise has used weapons from all of our cultures including ones that have not yet stylized an existing in game culture, not to say there cant be an asian styled culture introduced.

Yes an asian culture could be made for D3 but then that means that Blizz is going to have to start from scratch and add a history of there part in Sanctuary and a landscape of their homeland.
To me the Samurai has no possible homeland in the world of Sanctuary that fits them.

They had to make up the lore for all the other characters when Diablo 2 was being made. And they have again made new lore for the WD, and have said that there will be no more returning classes I think. So the Samurai fits in perfect:P You are all just biased against it because its a new idea for the diablo series.

the way they have it on the map doesn't make sence to me. its by the frozen sea and almost has the same color as the deadlands. for me that means it going to be cold. the only asian culture that i can think of that will fit is the mongrols but they are not samurai like what people want in the game.

Keep in mind that the cultures you see in Sanctuary are STYLED after real world cultures, not them exactly. Blizzard can be very creative...

To me it seems that Blizzard is now creating their classes after what they know of Sanctuary. Take the Witch Doc, we all seen the type of place you might find him when you played in Act 3 in Kurast in D2.
If Blizzard releases a new class to play that no diablo fans has no history of the culture ever been released by game or book, then i will admit that there might be a chance that the samurai might be a class for D3 but until then i still think its highly unlikely that the samurai will be in D3.

Highly unlikely implies that you are admiting the possibility of, so on the basis of that your arguement doesnt really have any legs to stand on.

I'm saying that for Blizzard to make a new area in Sanctuary that has asian influences and then make a playable samurai class is not out of the question. Not to say that I even want a samurai class.

same here. also to have a new culture Blizz must some how put them into Sanctuary's history and have skills that fit that class.

And in my opinion theres no reason to think that they can't, it's just if they will.
