Animal Farm is one of the best books out there! It's written by George Orwell( Eric Blair ) and its a fairy tale =D It's about politics, all "hidden" within this book. By "hidden" i mean yelling and slapping you across the face =)
Hmm...
Isn't this the book about them communism pigs. If so than I should know this book very well, because I had to read it for my tenth grade english class
its just a metaphor for how stupid human beings are no offense to any1.
it just shows how blindly people follow their "leaders"
trust me, you can see that ...everywhere...
The entire book was almost an exact replica of how the Soviet Union rose to power and stayed in power. I found it very intriguing when I first read it in 6th grade. Then I eent out and bought the book about a year later. It was remarkable how well he showed the two leading pigs to be similar to the first two Russian rulers.
I also found that the symbolism between Boxer and the average human worker was so realistic. People will follow their leaders into almost anything if they believe they are doing what is right, hence the reason for the little talking pig to persuade the animals. Yet when a worker becomes useless the government would dispose of them in any way that was least expensive or in some cases, like Boxer's, profitable.
The whole book was very realistic and is one of my favorites. 1984 is another similar book by George Orwell, only more updated and more focused upon a socialist government. I'm only a few chapters into it though.

Yeah, Animal Farm is a classic. It's a pretty good demonstration of the how communism is fundamentally flawed. I remember watching the movie in junior high. I didn't understand all the symbolism in it back then though. Then one day I saw in the bookstore that they had Animal Farm and 1984 together in one single hardback book. And I had always wanted to read 1984 so I bought it and read them both.
lol stop scaring tale, seriously, we like to enjoy fun once in a while...this forum is too serious and flamy, that reminds me, you better have your flame shield on...

1984 is a lot better, IMHO, because it goes out to human nature rather than bad government. But Orwell writes about what he has no idea about in those two.
Animal Farm is a pretty straightforward book. It presents a pretty solid argument on the problems with communism.
1984 is more layered though. There's a number of ways to interpret Orwell's themes in that book. I personally believe that Orwell underestimates the concept of variation as well as the proletariat.
