I 'd like to see new 3D graphics....but after playing Diablo for years now....i guess it would just take time getting used to it. If only they had an option in-game for new 3D or classic.

Im too lazy to think of something of significant meaning to put here.
I voted isometric view, but 3D could have been an option, it's hard too choose beacause iso can be very realistic, D2 is a good example, and easy for gameplay. But a very good 3D can be amazing... It always depends if they do as well or better as WoW then it will be ok for 3D. If not well I prefer iso.

Oh and don't forget to listen to some Led Zeppelin!
Diablo 2 graphics were nice but let's not hide it.. everything they tried to make '3d like' totally reeked ass.. stairs etc...
They need to keep the same dark style.. but they will move to a 3d engine or die..
IMO they should and will probably use the warcraft 3 engine and modify it to have a more diabloesque feeling/gameplay (centered on hero, darker environment).
I love the way d2 looks and i'm scared if blizz goes 3-d because alot of 3-d looks like sh*t. Until game makers can make 3-d gameplay look like some of the recent animation movies, I say just hold off. I'd rather had beafutiful 2-d then look at mis-shapened unrealistic 3-d

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
I vote new. Imagine being able to zoom into all the armor and weapons. I would like to see graphics like resident evil/final fantasy. Maybe even a little guildwars touch but much darker. The menus should still be close to what D1 and D2 were but many more skills should be available.
what i see that most people want is:
-dark
-better than D2
-not too computer stressing
I believe that by now people should have decent cards. DX10 is already out so i wouldnt be surprised if D3 was meant for DX10 but still supported DX9 cards like ATI x800 and up.
3d would rule on my comp. and speed doesn't matter cuz why hardware is ?

I'm too nostalgic for the days when video games had 256 colors and you had to choose your sound card during installation; usually Soundblaster Pro. What some video game makers did with those 256 colors exemplified how innovative they had to be back then. And you can definitely see each individual pixel for all artwork in the games, but many of the images still looked very life-like. The first Lands of Lore and Privateer are great examples of this.
I think this White Tower looks pretty good for the graphics of the day. And wherever the graphics may have been lacking, I'd always fall back on the solid storylines as well as my imagination to enhance the experience. And I think the younger generation of gamers have a harder time appreciating that sort of thing. They often just want the most spectacular looking video game where you can go in, cause lots of carnage (which is still fun for me too), and enjoy games on the more topical level. I'm thankful that Blizzard manages to combine great graphics with immersive plots and characters. Cause without those latter two elements, I simply cannot get emotionally vested in a game which usually prevents me from replaying it after I've beaten it.
And with games like Privateer, I'd be perfectly happy if they made a new game that appeared like this. So basically, I can enjoy games with all kinds of graphics and I'm not sure what my point is anymore. I just wanted to show off this badass screenshot.

Not sure what some of you are thinking. If you want shiney new 3D graphics why are you even waiting for Diablo 3? There are hundreds of games out there for you. Of course many animations and other things should be updated, but if they make this game in full 3D it won't even feel like Diablo. Many of the gamepay elements that made diablo great depend on isometric graphics.
wow... u don't know what you're talking about jabal... it's 3d so you can view it any way you want, they could put in an option that you could look at it like diablo or warcraft games, not wow dumbasses. or you could view it like wow... or like guildwars or oblivion, or like the rest of the games that aren't hack and slash...
Edit : Runescape is 3d, not poly whatever, all 3d things are made of polygons.... runescape is just very low-definition...
This isn't WoW, not Oblivion. I played D2 since 2000.
The PvP mechanics of the game worked so well because of the isometric graphics. Why would they change the whole image of the game to mock, or 'allow' users to experience Diablo as if it were another game?

I agree. The single player for me get's SOO BORING!
Only reason I have halo 1 is for when I have friends over, we can all play DM and have some fun. But the whole "energy shield" get's really old.
