As mentioned in the title, I've started playing HC mode for the first time and before I get further with the progress, I would like some tips about HC mode. I'm in act II, normal mode, with a lv19 wizard.
So here's what I want to know :
- What's the safest lv to confront : Belial - Azmodan and Diablo on normal difficulty?
- Before getting into a bossfight, should every gear slot be of rare quality?
- As a wizard, should I focus on having vit - def stats or dmg, if so, should I wear a shield or a wizard off-hand item?
Feel free to add other tips as well, if there are some.
slow and steady IMO, deck out your character and the follower you use with them every few levels. A lot of the stuff on the HCAH is expensive but you shouldn't have trouble making some gold by selling low level vitality gear.
Also I think barbarian is the best class for hardcore as they have a lot of defensive and self healing abilities. Curently I roll with a barbarian tank with a soundrel follower for dps.

my advice to people new to the mode that i usually give (got lots, just one to keep it simple at start)
keep everything in front of you with your way out--a safe/reliable one-behind you
