I'm looking in to buying a gaming laptop over the next few months. I have a budget of around $1500-$2000 so I want a good one.
My main dilema is that same as every tecnology purchase, should I buy now or wait until the nex GPU's come out or until the Sandy Bridge processors come out?
I'm not very upto date with technology, so any advice would be much appretiated.
I am pretty much buying the laptop for Diablo, so I'm willing to wait until around the release date, I'm not holding my breath as of now.
I live in Japan, which is a possible problem, I can buy the Alienware 17x r3 at my local giant tech centre so this is high on the list, but I think the R4 could be coming out in the not too distant future?
I'm not up to date on laptops but as I say with anything alienware, Look somewhere else unless you want pretty lights. Basically you can find computers like the Asus G73's that are basically the same as the alienware minus pretty lights and SLI/Xfire. and on a gaming laptop SLI/Xfire will absolutely destroy your battery, like maybe 2 hours and its finished, so keep that in mind.Saiger I know makes some nice ones but they're pretty plain looking, Asus is great but again battery life on both these are terrible, even alienware. I haven't read about anything in MSI but thet might be worth a shot. BTW any Current-Gen gaming laptop will blow through SC2 or D3 no problem. The Gpu's and Cpu's and RAM are way more than enough to power through games like them, if you want a laptop that can play just Diablo you're better off getting a normal laptop that wont have such a shitty battery-life, but if you're looking to power through BF3 definitely go for a gaming laptop... My 2 cents anyway. Good Luck with whatever you decide

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
Battery life is not important for me as I will basically use the laptop as a portable desktop because I live abroad most of the year. I heard MSI are pretty good, but I don't know if I can buy them in Japan.
Although I am buying a laptop for D3, I want one that will be good for a few years. I realise D3 will be pretty easy to run compared to some games, but it's always nice to have power to burn for the future.
My main concern is for the next gen GPU's and processors, it doesn't look like D3 will be out anytime soon, so I'm sure they'll be around by then, unfortunately.
