My battlenet account with WoW, SC2, Diablo 2 and LoD and WC3 is not working for the blizzard diablo 3 forums so i'm confused.
I haven't got diablo 2 installed or WC3 and haven't for ages and never played multi player after my low level character had a max level sorceress come into server and do a wall of fire and giant AoE for like a billion damage on me. So I don't have a battlenet 1.0 account and can't find a website to make one.
do I really have to download diablo 2 to be able to make an account for the diablo 3 forums? cause diablo 2 tends to have issues with windows 7 64 bit in that I open game and the cutscenes play as pink and green pixels rather than video.
Really bites that I meet the game ownership requirement for posting in the warcraft 2 and diablo 2 and 3 forums as far as owning games but that I can't use the games registered on my battlenet account to get access.
I've been trying to figure out how to log into diablo 3 forum on battle.net.
They have great games but yet have the shittiest forum of all time.
Theres a reason why a thread with 500 view only has 4 replies. How do you log in?

By using your diablo 2 CD key and a battlenet 1.0 account and you only make that account far as I can tell in the old games themselves. Thats my issue not having a battlenet 1.0 account and the games running like crap on my PC.
Yeah, I know. It took me a while to figure out how to log in.. I just gave up. Only after I started playing D2 again I figured hey wait maybe this is what they want us to do.. So yeah, what Peteed said. You need a D2/LoD key + an old bnet account.
And about those Windows 7 issues I dunno, it works for me (64bit) + you only need to create the account, right?
Try running in "2D" mode if you aren't already. After you do the video test, you get the option of 2D or 3D. 3D depends on a video card which means having to deal with video driver issues. 2D mode is software only so you can avoid any problems related to that.
Now the other thing is to make sure you have Desktop Composition and Visual Themes turned off. You might also need compatibility mode for XP. I have all three set and it works for me. I also use windowed mode (for D2).

Thx for all that i'll try it. its a 6950 ATI so your right it may have driver issues with old games since they make them for new games not ancient games.
allright, straight up download Windows XP Mode, and then install there.

there's really no need for that, AriX. running the graphics test and choosing DirectDraw is the solution i think. I had issues before i ran that tool aswell some time ago.

The whole issue is you can't if your game won't work right on the new OS as i've been saying all along if you read the thread......
All I see when I load game is bright green and pink.

As I said, I also have Windows 7 x64 and it works just fine for me.
