Well, i got this idea from the thread I made on keeping a dedicated in-game statistics page in D3.
If you've ever seen poke'mon in your life, there was a thing called a poke'dex, however you spell it; in pokemon, whenever they saw a pokemon they collected information on him (or something like that). Every time we see a monster we could read his beastiery, or some in depth information about him in-game. It could be active if I killed a skeleton, then the skeleton will be added to my Demon tracker, and I can view all the demons I've ever killed.
(How this matched up with my statistics thread, was that I wanted them to list the amount of "enter demon here" we killed. So in D2, after getting to level 20 I can go to the page and see that I killed 80 fallen, 200 skeletons. etc)

"Not Even Death Can Save You From Me" ~ Diablo (II)
Sounds like you are talking about the Tome of Knowledge from Warhammer: AoR. Which is also a good idea for a way to keep track of statistics of monsters. I also thought it might be nice to have an Armory of D3 like the one they have for WoW. So that everyone can look at each others statistics and builds. This is starting to sound alot like World of Diablo...
lol, every time someone comments, it sounds like a good idea..if they actually did what we wanted this game won't be released till 2012 (the end of the world, sarcasm) and it would take my whole 750 GB hard drive
yea, I would like that, being able to also see the basic types of weapons that you've seen.

But this would be actually useful to the gameplay and makes good use of all the lore involved in creating a specific monster =)
And I don't really care if Diablo takes lots of features from WoW, as long as the gameplay is still fun and fast-paced like Crysis Warhead (WoW's 3 hours quests are really boring.. I'm not even going to start on the subject of grinding in MMORPGs)..

I agree Crysis and Crysis: Warhead were hyper-fast and lets hope Diablo 3 is very-very long and yet fast paced!!!!!!!!!
