They did so in patch 13 also and we were able to equip them with crossbow on...it just requires to have a bow, crossbow or hand crossbow which is same shit as crossbow and not a sword, axe, mace, etc...

Why would they do that? What kind of dumbass would use a quiver with a sword.

One is never hurt by being given additional choices, only by taking them away. A QUADRILLION MAGIC FIND is worthless if you can't kill shit!

Found an awesome 1 handed sword and now wants to put quiver in his off hand because he has nothing else to put in and is thinking better something than nothing (usually not the case though dps wise) or something, why would you use a sword as DH anyway...people do silly stuff and blizzard tries to hold their hand to get trough those decisions i guess lol
And the templar became suddenly useless .. GG blizzard.
What a shitty comment. You dont even know what the balance is relative to the other two followers- if the templar was the only usable one then they failed at design. Besides, The 1 disc per second regen was WAY overpowered, especially relative to what the other classes got. It was imbalanced, it was fixed. There is no reason to QQ because a single followers single talent literally doubled the native discipline regen (which can be used to refill all of hatred easily) got put in line with other abilities and followers.
Just throwing this out there, Followers are meant to help you not do the work for you. This isn't a hunter in WoW where you level up BM and let your pet take all the damage and you just drink you beer, watch tv, and auto shot. If you guys played the old diablo and diablo 2, majority of the damage came from the player itself not from the followers.

Yup now almost every DH build will have to include one of the few terrible methods to regain disc.
Critting isnt a terrible method to regain disc. It makes it gear and build centric as a method, and it's engaging since the more stats you allocate for crit, the more your disc regen will be. Lets you find the optimal crit level for regen and then focus other stats.
hitting multiple targets with multishot and the rune is engaging disc regen and is gameplay centric. How you regen disc depends on how you go after packs of mobs. and spread them out to hit multiple targets.
The templar was a simple static buff (your disc generation is doubled) and besides being totally broken, it had absolutely no affect on how you play your character. Not to mention it meant every demon hunter would have to use the templar and the other two followers might as well not even existed.
It needed to be removed, and it was removed. Whining that something isn't blatantly OP anymore makes you sound like a spoiled child.

Yah because inspire caused your follower to do 10x more dmg! WTF?!?

Yah maybe if we actually knew what % chance it was! But it just says chance. Can't make an informative description because it might confuse some dumbass noob. And giving up a passive of 15% dmg to get it is pretty severe dmg loss.
You aren't going to try to run around to spread packs of mobs out to regain disc via multi-shot. Thats way too much work when you could just kill them.
The inspire buff had a HUGE impact on how you play your character, because it allowed a lot of different builds to be viable. Now we are nearly all going to be forced to use 1 of the 3 methods to get disc back.
How the fuck was it blatantly OP? It didn't make you superman, it just opened some build possibilities that are now closed off. If giving people options are OP, then WTF isnt OP.

Speak for yourself. You obviously have no idea why they did that. +1 discip/sec is nothing compared to Night Stalker potential, they done that only to prevent a very specific use of Smoke Screen. Think about it ...

You could still possibly remain invisible with smoke screen..
Smoke screen cost 24 disc and lasts 3 seconds, subtract 20%, so now 20 disc.
You could generate 6 disc with paladin+base regen, patch 13, so now 14 disc.
That means you would need to be able to generate 14 disc in 3 seconds to remain invisible. Without the paladin you would need 17...big whoop!
It wasn't OP because you could potentially be invisible forever, it was good because it opened up a lot of build options. There are only 4 ways to generate disc as far as I know, and any build that plans to use a actively use 2+ disc skills are going to be forced to pick one of those 4.

Perma invis is about as broken as the game can get....WTF could be better than that? What are you thinking? Spamming Prep for infinite hatred? Thats not really even broken, hatred is easy to come by.

Inspire has been nerfed to the ground! 2 mana per second 0.5 arcane power per second 1 hatred per second (0 discipline now) Fury 8% generated Spirit 12% generated The templar just lost a ton of value. The talent almost seems worthless now!
any source for this change?
I don't have any problems with this change, because before the change it feels to necessary to take the templar for soloplay if you need extra discipline for your build.

Lol, DH has so great ways active and passive to get hatred/discipline. We don't need templar or any of those followers really. They were not meant to be really useful though you can use them. I bet some of us will play without them NM difficulty and higher as they will just get in a way dying unexpectedly just when we count on them. Though HC characters may use them for scouting and as cannon fodder when they run themselves away from the fight
2 mana per second
0.5 arcane power per second
1 hatred per second (0 discipline now)
Fury 8% generated
Spirit 12% generated
The templar just lost a ton of value. The talent almost seems worthless now!
The inspire talent gives about 10% resource increase gained, but for the DH it was 100%.
Thats obviously not balanced properly. And its brought down to be about as good for everyone now
