I was hoping you were able to read my first thread more than a year ago... and I'm not sure if you had or not but I sure am happy with the outcome. Just this March of 2011, I checked on blizzard's website again to check on my soon to be favorite character, the Demon Hunter, and to my surprise, you guys have the male version out. Thank you so much.
Now I can appreciate the game more than the 2 previous ones where I used the Rouge and the Amazon respectively. I would understand the Rouge being the first Diablo out, and the Amazon wherein there is no male in their society as books and stories depict. Though I loved the game, the longing is there for a male range character that I can use... Now there is and I'm quite happy with that.
With your research team and all, I just can't understand how can there be FEMALE MONKS? It's absurd in all sense of the noun. Stories about Amazons are restricted to their gender being female only, as Monks should be male only as well. With the new game still not out in the Market, I do suggest you guys remove the female gender from the Monk class for it is not right.
Another thing, I would like to point out is the Hired Mercenaries... I've seen the new Diablo 3's gameplay video with the Barbarian going through the dungeon to save Cain, a couple of times already. There are 2 things wrong that video clip which I would like to point out.
- First, please correct the grammar of one of the guards when they were going through a hall and then Cain says, and I quote "GET AWAY FROM THE WALLS", then the idiot said "WHAT IN THE HELLS IS THAT?"
-> Dang! WHAT IN THE HELLS??? Hell no. Your only in the dungeon, not even in hell yet. HELL should be singular. Also, adding the phrase, and I quote "IS THAT", is specifying something? I didn't see any monster come out of the collapsing wall, so why say that? It's QUITE INAPPROPRIATE FOR THE SCENARIO.
He could have just said, and I quote "WHAT THE HELL?" in a surprised way, it would have not only sounded better, it fits the scenario as well.
Whoever did this scenario should be ashamed of himself. Better have him/her retake his English classes again. He may be good in technical matters but his English grammar stinks.
- Second, with the voice in the background saying that when you enlist the 2 guards trapped with Cain by clicking on them & orders them to follow you saying, and I quote "I'M SURE THEY'LL LIVE A LONG AND HEALTHY LIVES AS YOUR SIDEKICKS, NOTHING BAD IS GONNA HAPPEN TO THEM."
-> HELLO! Are you alright?
The 1st one didn't even survive it through the "SKELETAL SHIELDMEN", and I quote "Who can block a lot of damage. They're backed-up by SKELETAL ARCHERS who can do massive damage.
The 2nd one didn't even make out of the dungeon, just one pass of the "THOUSAND POUNDER", and he's dead already.
It's kinda stupid to say that they'll live a long and healthy life, if they die fast.
This is one ironic feature of the 2 previous Diablo games. The hired mercenaries die fast. So, if you really think about it, it's so stupid to incorporate these mercenaries in the game since they die fast and is not really much help at all. For the previous versions of Diablo, I was only able to make them level-up twice before they get cornered and die. It's frustrating in a sense because they simply don't last long.
It would be better, with all your employees and bright minds employed to make the game, come up with something to make this part of the game useful. Since a lot of loot is being dropped by monsters and chests, why not make it possible to OPEN YOUR INVENTORY, AND SIMPLY CLICK-ON THE ARMOR OVER THE HIRED MERCENARY TO INCREASE THEIR DEFENSE, SIMPLY TO GIVE THEM A BETTER CHANCE OF SURVIVING AND LASTING THE GAME, and I quote "IN THE REAL SENSE OF BEING ABLE TO HELP YOU KILL A LOT OF MONSTERS AND NOT DIE OUT ON YOU EASILY".
While you're at it, why not make it possible to equip them with a better bow or wand as well.
If you guys can do this, then the game will truly be epic by proportions.
those guys were appointed meat shields and distractions, the mercenaries range in quality and usefulness and those only seemed weak (though they were supposed to be) in comparison to the pimped character killing the boss in about 3 hits. d3 is meant to be challenging and im sure those guys were powerful enough
Regarding saying "what in the hells is that?". The group was actually passed by the "Siegebreaker Assault Beast" down in the dungeon. A bit earlier in the barbarian movie you can see the beast walk by in the background and one of the npcs saying "there is something in here!" pointing out that they saw it or perhaps just heard it - they are aware of the presence of some beast. Now a little later the wall is crushed just next to them, on the same side of them as the Siegebreaker appeared on, so for me it always made sense that they would know it was caused by "whatever they just saw/heard" and then it makes more sense to ask "what is that?". If they had not seen the beast in advance and the wall just crushed out of nothing then I agree the way he shouts does seem a bit awkward.
If you didn't notice it before you can see the Siegebreaker walk by in the upper part of the screen in this movie at about 09:10 here
exactly:D and those archer npc`s were also there to tell a story, so what if they die. they aare suppose to be weak, if they so storng as mean they should be, they would just try to get out themselves:)
Also, adding the phrase, and I quote "IS THAT", is specifying something? I didn't see any monster come out of the collapsing wall, so why say that?
Actually if you look closely you notice the Siegebreaker Assault Beast grabbing him through the wall. You might wanna watch it a million times. I had to. There was a blue post on it some while ago confirming that it was indeed the Assault Beast going for a snack.
In Diablo it's known as "The High Heavens" and "The Burning Hells". So when he says "hells" it's correct.
Second We are not Blizzard, just a group of people who love the series and enjoy the games.
Third He was using irony. A literary concept in which one thing is stated, while its opposite is implied.
Fourth have a nice day.
Game. Set. Match. And in complete contradiction to your signature!
The guys before me pretty much covered everything except for those archers. See they're companions, not hirelings. So they do follow you around for their short lives (Jay used his irony there saying what you pointed out) but they aren't upgradable and they don't level with you (or get revived). In fact, Blizzard is still keeping their cards closed on the real mercenaries as we had them in Diablo II. I guess we'll see with beta, or with the release of the game.
As for the female monks... well... when we hear the word "nun" we either think of an old lady in some sort of robe, or something that we're not allowed to discuss in here <insert dirty thought here>. I think you get my point
PS. as Raptorbonz42 mentioned, we're not Blizzard. We're a fansite that had the pleasure to work with them to announce the male Demon Hunter (and hope for more of that in the future). We do get updated quite quickly, however and i hope you like it here enough to register and become an active part of this community.
