Blizzard is looking pretty bad with all of this. They just deleted the giant thread where everyone was saying how they didn't like the new skill UI. They didn't lock it... nope... completely deleted it. Poor form.
Edit: They had no right to either. No one was breaking any rules. Everyone was just stating their opinion.
You're acting like that practice is new for them. Blizzard since WoW came to light has done this. If you post anything remotely negative about any of their choices or actions they sweep it under the rug. Unless it's a issue so overwhelming that there's 500 threads about it that they can't ignore they just quietly delete it. Notice how quick Blizzard locks/deletes threads calling them on their BS for saying "soon" or "next week" only to never deliver anything.
They have already said that a console diablo will be an entirely new endeavor, separate and apart from D3. On top of being a completely separate project, it will be YEARS before we even get so much as a glimpse at it.
D3's design has nothing to do with a console version.
It is your choice to believe those statements, I however do not. Call it intuition, or whatever you wish, but I know bullsh*t when I see it.
I just have tunnel vision with this calculator. It's like I can't think or plan anything out with this system.
Designing builds is a core game mechanic of Diablo 3. It's one of the main reasons people buy the game. This skill UI directly contradicts that. It makes designing builds much, much harder.
This really should not make it into the final release. I actually don't expect it to. You'd have to be an imbecile to allow this kind of regression.
I wonder how many *years* console D3 is away. I mean, it seems like we'll be migrating to new console generations relatively soon... PS3/Xbox are kind of old now imo. Might be like the perfect dark zero thing where it gets pushed from system to system.
sorry but for a game such as d3 that everyone from saturn to earth is waiting for since the ice age, they should try to make the ui as perfect and simple as can be, i mean youre talking about a whole completely different generation now, this game should be the pinnacle
of next generation gaming for blizzard, i believe in them and know they will not let us down!
Honestly, I could care less about the aesthetics. If you put it on elective mode, you are pretty much free to do what you want to do with it. No, it's not drag and drop, but come on... you actually only spend a very tiny portion of your game time in that window anyway.
It works fine in the game. But, of course, people will always find something to nit-pick.

everyone is whining about the skill UI, they'll rollback, and no one will whine about anything else ^^;
Did we just get Lewinsky'd?
