Well, we know Blizzard's track record with releasing patch updates and such. Especially when it regards games without a monthly fee like Diablo 2. Takes years for a patch to pop up.
Think D3 will go down this same path? (I know it's still very early but I think about it.)
I'm guessing we'll probably go down the route of expansions for updates.

True. How are the patches and all that for StarCraft? I hear that game is very popular still, especially in Korea.
Haven't played in quite a while, I assume they've near stopped, just like the D2 ones.
There is only so much you can patch to a game before you fix basically everything and you start expanding upon the game which would make it a expansion.
