I finally got a RoRG to drop so I can start multi-setting But I'm kind of lost as to what direction would be best. I think my current gear set is pretty solid but playing around with adding Borns chest and sword into the mix added another 18% CDR which is great but it knocked a huge chunk out of my +fire damage. With access to Borns set as well as a nice pair of hexing pants what are some good gear setup and build suggestions for T4-5?
Velthore, check the below link for a great write-up by Daxypad. Additionally, I have some posts in there (as well as my profile) regarding a CDR-based FIreEQ Barb. (May be funky gear/skills currently though, logged out while testing a few items). I run T5 rifts avg. 10min (quickest was 8min, dependent on density of course).
Seems what you're looking for is very similar to what I run with (2pc Born, 3pc MotE with a focus on CDR). If you have any questions would be more than happy to answer.
A few comments on your gear/build specifically:
1) You should definitely be able to handle T5 if you get even avg rolls on your Born set (if you switch to that). Your gear is pretty decent (when compared to mine).
2) If you move away from Cindercoat to Born (weapon + chest), consider getting rid of your Fury Spender (HotA). Only do this if you can get a raw ~50% CDR (not including born set bonus, but including paragon). If you try to run without a spender on low CDR, it'll feel too clunky (downtime too long on leap). IF you do switch over, also change your passive to Berserker Rage, since you'll have max fury most of the time if playing correctly (weaving earthquakes in between leaps).
3) Again, assuming you're moving towards CDR, toss in CotA (w/fire rune) and the Bul Kathos passive (lowered CD on EQ, CotA, WotB). If you have the born set plus a raw ~50% CDR, downtime on CoTA is minimal (~5 seconds).
4) Stat Priority: I'm may get a lot of heat for this, but for my build, the DPS stats that I focus on: CDR, %Fire Dmg, %EQ Dmg, %Elite Dmg, Str. BUT WHERE'S CRIT CHANCE?! you may be asking... Well, of course its great to have, but those 4 above stats are priority as the overall %dmg increase is way better than prioritizing Crit if they need the same spot. Also, you'll still get a good amount of Crit from slots that may not be able to collect those dmg modifiers, but those other 4 stats are just too good to pass up compared to crit chance.
i really like my build. With a 4 second cd on leap tossing in stomp was a no brainer. almost perm cc is so awesome. dont usually have to worry about much and once i got my rotation down t5 aint shit. i could use some better rolls on my gear but it seems to work well
Microweive I like the idea of running a CDR build with no spender....would you keep the augilds set in there or drop it out for hexing pants (I have a nice pair)? Also the only other place for me to find CDR is to reroll stats off my rings and amulet. I already have a decent Borns chest and MH so I'm good too go there.
Hard to say, although with a quick glance at your gear, I'd probably switch it out, assuming the following:
1) You have decent MotE shoulders to replace it with (MUST: Str, CDR, and ideally %EQ Dmg,)
2) Your Yan pants are decent (str & socket of course)
3) You have decent bracers (MUST: Str, %Fire Dmg, ideally CHC% and a leg. proc if possible)
I realize now with 2.06, you could probably craft some even better Aughild bracers, and if you happen to get some Fire Dmg on your Aughilds in addtion to Str/CHC%, I think it would ultimately be your choice and comes down to playstyle. Just remember with Yan, if you aren't moving you are actually HURTING your DPS quite a bit, so if you tend to be on the 'lazier' side (which I am quite a bit, heh), staying aughiled (albeit with better bracers) could be better.
I personally would try to get CDR on your future rings (maybe don't reroll now, as I see you've rolled to CHC on both. I would have rolled the SoJ CHC to CDR, then on the RoRG roll the AS% to CDR. For your future rings, SoJ would ideally have fire dmg/elite dmg/str and the open roll to CDR, while the RoRG would have Str, AS%, open roll to CDR or CHC, and then reroll either the LoH or AS% to whichever of CDR/CHC you didn't get. I can explain a bit if needed why I don't place as big an emphasis on the old-king of DPS stats, CHC, for this build.
I finally decided to run with a high CDR build but it still ushe's a spender in HoTA (smash). I can run T4 with ease and T5 with only a death here and there. i do have a few questions tho.
1.) I rolled a very good augilds chest which I am wearing in my profile as well as CDR/quake augilds shoulders. Is it worth keeping this setup shown in my profile to keep strongarm bracers in the build or should would the well rolled cindercoat I have with quake damage and augilds bracers be a better option?
2.) I finally got a thunderfury to drop...in my profile...is the ability to have an extra 8-10% CDR and the proc worth keeping it In place of ~+16% fire devastator?
I've done some testing and I can't seem to confirm this but, can EQ even crit? From what I can tell, it can't and if that's the case, I could easily see prioritizing the other damage stats over it by leaps and bounds.
I just got my 3rd piece of the Earth set and with the Ring, I can play with the leaps quakes. However, my build is currently focused almost entirely on crit chance and crit damage. So, if I want to utilize this set, seems to me I'll have to build a completely new set around it, assuming EQ can't crit which from what I can tell it can't.
It just seems that way though. I have it set up that the only damage numbers that should ever pop up are crits and I see crits from Avalanche and every other ability I use but not from EQ. So, if anyone could confirm/deny that, I'd appreciate it.
