Build Guide
This is a new approach for classical Sunwuko Monk and in my opinion this is one of the strongest monk setups for solo runs.
The main idea is to keep Epiphany up almost all time ( 50% dmg taken decrease + high spirit regeneration )
and
keeping spirit pool always with enough spirit value to use WoL infinetely by the procs of The Laws of Seph via Blinding Flash ...
Thats why we need min. 50% cooldown reduction + Obsidian Ring of Zodiac ..
**** Power of build :
- A constant reduction of dmg taken 75% ( Epiphany + Unity ring )
- 29% dmg increase very frequently (via rune of Blinding Flash)
- 15% increased AttackSpeed (rune of Dashing Strike) and 20% dmg increase ( Momentum Pass.) very frequently
- constant 20% dmg increase (Mystic Ally Fire rune + The Crudest Boots)
- easy usage of Oculus buff ( Oculus ring with Templar) due to high mobility
**** What to do :
- Use numlocks for Epiphany and Blinding Flash ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaAI8s8rft4 by Quin69)
- Get positions to maximize your Oculus buff usage
- Try to get Momentum buff up always (if you have no DS charge u just run a bit to have mom. buff)
- All the others are similar with Classical Sunwuko Monk Builds
Enjoy ....

I am 100% sure that if some Top Tier Player use this Infinite WoL Build they progress much further on GR+
(with their high Paragon and extremely good gear set + their high experience & pro playing of game)..
As far as I noticed there are mainly 2 types of classical WoL build:
- with no spirit generator and keeping distance which they use UNITY and mainly CoE rings (some use Zodiac ins. of CoE)
- with spirit generator (mainly Crippling Wave) and they use a ring set Focus + Restraint
Lets compare our Infinite Wol Build with the first type at the moment by using www.d3planner.com. We do similar one for other type after.
INFINITE WoL Build vs. Classical Top Tier WoL build (No:5 at EU Leaderboard with GR112+ / Monk DCDEAD - 24 July 2018 list)
What I will do:
- I will use same items + his/her paragon + same legandary gems and same caldesans.
- But with our build skills and passives. And we will touch only one enchant ( CDR on off hand wpn instead of Area Dmg) since I prefer to have a CDR value > 55% to have 100% Epiphany uptime during fighting thanks to Zodiac ring.
Here is the result of d3planner for Monk DCDEAD with the gear set and build when he/she got down GR112+ :
https://www.d3planner.com/837694728
and with our build :
https://www.d3planner.com/954217642
- Weapon Damage 3,148,443 %69 more
- Elemental DPS 9,509,533 %54 more
- Elite DPS 7,743,477 %54 more
- Effective DPS 60,930,822 %40 more
- Effective DPH 28,445,762 %54 more
If we look at Defensive situations Our build is just a bit more solid with 100% uptime of epiphany ( ours has 3% more CDR value)..
While they have mantra / Agility we compensate it with passive Sixth Sense...
Conc'n : Our build shines with much higher damage values with a solid defansive...
Infinite WoL vs Other Classical WoLs will be ready soon..
I was bored to use same WoL builds for a long time and this build brought a new approach.
This is a new playing style for Sunwuko WOL Monks.. I enjoyed it ; ty ICESER.
You posted the same d3planner link twice when trying to compare the 112 clear with this build.
Your thoughts though for hardcore, maybe swap Sixth Sense + Stricken for NDE + Eso? Or, if 50% CDR is required, what is actually recommended? Say I meet 50% CDR on the dot without Ytar, and can drop this instead.
I have no idea how these links are changed !... Thank you for warning it is corrected now..
I had created this build for softcore seasonal , thats why I informed 50% CDR is ok but If Hardcore then it wont be enough . Our aim is to keep "Epiphany uptime" as close as 100% during fight thnx to Zodiac ring. We will have 2-3 sec gap without Epiphany if CDR is less than 55% (safe 57%) .
Thats not a big problem for softcore but it is much better to have a CDR > 55% for HC.
Theoratically it is possible to reach CDR>55% without Ytar but in that case you should have CDR stat at all possible items which will get you a serious DPS lost . It is not recommended at all.
Shortly, the build will be mainly same in HC case such that CDR should be over 55% . The gems at chest and leg should be used "green" fully or partially at softcore but it would be better to have all "blue" in HC.
Hmm. I'd still like to try this, I only just started Monk about a week ago and I'm digging how many combinations of damage/toughness are available with the most used skill sets. Blinding Flash is great and in itself prevented me from proc'ing too much with Sage's, with Tzo's though it's a little different.
Looks like with CDR on at least one weapon + Ytar you're right between 55-56%, with both weapons - Ytar it's exactly 50%... A damage gem should outweigh a 10% dmg roll on weapon (as opposed to squeezing in Eso). Perhaps replacing Radiance with Blinding for the Dodge should Epiphany drop for a couple seconds would be sufficient, or switching Momentum to Seize for more attack speed --> Obsidian procs.
I'll try it out on some lower content and get back to ya if you're curious.
Hope to hear u soon with your observations and test results...
Well I pretty much agree but it looks like people are still clearing 113 with basically classic + Obsidian... Nobody on top HC leaderboards is using COE/FnR. This build is pretty glassy in comparison but I really like the direction you're going in though so what I ended up with was basically the cookie cutter classic build, replaced Ally/Cindercoat with Blinding Flash/Seph as a basic function, then Crudest/Witching Hour with Inna's and Emeralds instead of Diamonds, keeping Mantra/Agility, Blinding Speed dash and Seize the Initiative. CHC/AS on Unity to maintain thresholds (25 FPA with Initiative proc'd and 50/500 crit). It has right around the same potential toughness as classic and damage/DPS as infinite with my gear, which is pretty much all non-ancient so I did pump in +6500 Dex to see and it appeared to be pretty solid still. I'm new ish to Monk though, so I'm not sure how this truly compares to either build.
