Build Guide

What is this?

While experimenting with an Inarius trash killer for 4 player group build I ran this solo build that performed better than I would've expected. I cleared a 100 on my first try (2200 paragon). I've loved the Inarius set since the necro was released but I could never push with it as it was way too squishy. I only died twice in my GR 100. I'd call that a win.

Real setup used to clear GR100 on first try: https://www.d3planner.com/836598629

What about the poison scythe/nayr's build?

I actually started off with a poison scythe variant that had 4 stacks of Nayr's up constantly based on Flulffy's build but it still didn't seem to perform as well as this setup. Will have to do more runs because poison scythe should be better on paper, but wasn't in practice.

Another problem is dumping essence. Command skeletons stinks at essence dump and all other poison skills stink at it as well. You could replace simulacrum and aura of frailty with 2 poison skills and keep 3 stacks of Nayr's and maintain singularity, but the bursty essence cap increase during simulacrum on max density is brutal. You're talking a 48000% leger's disdain buff on full restore with simu up and 600 essence (600 * 80). So far the largest hit I've seen with essence empty, simulacrum up and max density is 95T. You're also going to suck at building density without aura by having to wack everything with the stick to curse it (or blight nova or whatever).

Ideas for improvement?

I still want to play with replacing simulacrum with brittle touch corpse lance to crit cap mobs before poison cycle. Along with that also switch to grim scythe beheading for that 5% change for decap at 20% to squeeze out even more.

Why double curse skills?

The grim scythe rune is actually pretty flexible depending on what elements you want to try out. However, leech really helps you stay alive wacking inside a huge pull of monsters. Aura of frailty is good because you can just walk by mobs to get spreading maladiction stacks. It's too slow wacking every monster with the scythe as you walk past them to build up density.

No endless walk?

For solo endless walk is just too squishy for real pushing. Unity and Kalan give 25% more damage reduction, and you never get to stand still much anyway for the endless walk damage buff. You also can't stand still in the pack solo and survive even with leech (maybe if you stacked life on hit, but haven't tried it).

I think endless walk would work much better in groups. If you're a super tank and don't need unity or kalan, substitute them for a stone of jordan and haunted visions. (or briggs wrath and strongarm bracers).

What's the rotation?

Like all other AoE push setups, this build requires density and I bet some fishing to truly push it. The upside is that walking past monsters curses them and makes them chase you. Once you have a good pull of monsters:

  • blood rush into the middle of the pack at the end of physical CoE rotation.
  • Cast bone armor to stack up your bracers and proc krysbin's quadruple bonus
  • Cast skeletal mage to dump essence
  • Wack monsters with scythe on poison rotation. Continuously dump essence with skeletal mage in between scythe hits.

Stats?

Crit Damage > Crit Chance > Area Damage > Vitality > Cooldown Reduction

Shoot for at least 100% area damage. The more the better.
