No Community Buffs for S5
Wyatt Cheng replied to a thread on the official forums about community buffs like the Double Bounty Weekend. He explained that there are currently no plans for a community buff for Season 5, and the reason for that. Read below.

The main reason is the one highlighted by other members of the community - while 2x buffs are super exciting while they’re active, they have negative effects at other times. The biggest is how demoralizing it can feel if you miss out on the community buff. One of the strengths of Diablo is when players feel they can play on their own schedule, when they feel like it. The 2x buffs really detract from a sense that any time is a perfectly good time to play. It can also cause people to burn themselves out trying to get the most out of the buff.
Alkaizer's LoN Bombardment Crusader
Alkaizer has put together a video guide going over his spec for a Legacy of Nightmares Bombardment Crusader. He goes over what specific items and rolls you want on your gear, and showcases some gameplay in the end. Check it out!
Wyatt you act like we're all 10 years old. Some people are going to miss the buff even if you put it up for a whole week. Stop listening to the whiners the buff was one of the biggest highlights of last season and gave everyone a reason to play seasons. Which is something you already took part of away by not having season only legendary's. Not everyone wants leader boards and cosmetic stuff a lot of my friends didn't play this season because you took all the solid stuff out. Season only events would be a perfect way to get people to play the game and make a seasonal toon.
Man, Wyatt Cheng should be fired, this dude will kill this game.
Just a thought.. you could in-game mail everyone a buff consumable that lasts for "x" amount of hours of play time (instead of real time) or "x" amount of caches...then everyone can benefit from double bounties on their own schedule. ;-)
Can't have nice things, because people don't know how to schedule their gametime, and can't pull themselves away to prevent burn out. So.... since those players, presumably who aren't playing now, we, who are still here, get nothing. Beautiful reasoning.
Hmm. Given the lead in text I was almost expecting to hear that "server strain" is why we will not get a buff. Interesting to hear it's about "scheduling".
I already want this Season to be over with. This has been a really stale season even with all the new sets coming out. Since the only thing that works any more is LoN Crusader and Wizard it's been very boring to farm/play any of the new or revamped sets since they don't work anywhere near as well as those two. Literally never balanced any season. :/
On another note, what kind of bb editor do you use for the comments ?
Man, so many crybabies in this thread. You don't need double anything. You get a free six piece set FFS. It took two days of casual play to get to T10 this season. I think the game is in a good place.
.
I see you have a lot of valuable feedback to give. Thanks for your input.
Anyone else get the feeling that the internet is just a place full of people that refuse to be happy anymore? Wyatt Cheng single handedly saved this game from the terrible depths in which it had fallen. In fact I would even argue this is one of the most balanced seasons so far to date, and actually brought some really fun content with the new set dungeons. Is every spec and every class 100% viable, no. However, I think there is a lot of flavor and ways to approach the game now that isn't all about the leaderboards.
Also find it funny that people complaining about the lack of class balance, then turn around and complain about the lack of community events. Those events at their core create imbalance because it gives those that have a lot more time to play the game a distinct advantage. If your only reason to play seasons revolves around double blood shard and double xp weekends, I fear you have missed the actual point of each new patch and batch of content. I will say though, EATED's idea about mailing the buffs as a consumable that allow you to trigger the start of the event at a time that fits your play schedule is quite smart and fun. Great stuff!
tl;dr If I can't have it, no one can!
Alkaizer is by far one of the worst streamers and you tubers I have seen play D3, he has said a number of times he hates playing D3 now and does not want to help others unless it helps him. And he just sits in stream crying about every little thing he can find. Sad person.
Easy fix for the missing out.
Give us double bounty "weekend" charges. when activated you gain say 100 charges. after done 100 bounties you no longer gain from the double reward.
Can be used any time after obtained.
Number must ofcourse be thought out. I pulled one from my arse
hmm, ok.
Go ahead and ROFL all you want to not as many people are playing this season. It has nothing to do with "shortcuts" the buff was a nice surprise for everybody. Just so you know I say everybody because the event was open to everyone. Oh and btw you don't have to use any of those "lame shortcuts" if you don't want to it's a choice.
