Potential New Amulets
John Yang replied to an inquiry about the Hellfire Amulet being too powerful on Twitter. In the reply he explains why it's good for the Hellfire Amulet to be powerful, and indicates that we might see a few other interesting alternatives to it in the future!

Bonus: sometimes you get a great Hellfire amulet with a passive for another build, which may lead you to try that other build.
Also, there are some alternatives to Hellfire Amulet - e.g. Eye of Etlich, Flavor of Time, immunity amulets. Maybe more to come.
zDPS Crusader Static Charge Support
So you may have seen the news regarding the new Static Charge Monk meta that has gained popularity lately, but what if you want to support a Monk? Kthulupwnsu has made some extensive testing and put together a zDPS Crusader spec that's great for that. See it below.
Chibi Diablo Fanart
NihonOaisuru only recently published a chibi Diablo drawing that was made about two years ago! Not bad for one of the first photoshop paintings she did - check it out!
yeah, no.
hota: hellfire amulet (5th passive) is mandatory. bastion of will is mandatory. gavel of judgment is mandatory. fury of the ancients is mandatory. i think you could play around a bit with your wrists, but the other items are set in stone.
same for most builds in see in other classes. i make a new character, look for the top voted guides here and i rely on the expertise of the guidewriters. i am not a big theorycrafting fan. and the pattern is always clear (for damage specs): six pieces of your class set, bastion of will and hellfire amulet. you also cube unity and furnace most of the time. but a demon hunter needs hunter's wrath and wraps of clarity as well as deadman's legacy and yang's recurve.
if you take one of those items away or even think about cubing something other for fun, you gimp the damage you grew accustomed to. very sad state.
Bonus: sometimes you get a great Hellfire amulet with a passive for another build, which may lead you to try that other build.
Yeah. Did no one ever.
Funny to see the devs have no clue about their own game. This is simply not how this game works.
All classes have more or less _1_ build that works for solo and one for group play.
You gear up for that one build and if you get a hellfire amu with a passive for another build that is not that one build. It get sharded. Simply put.
Remove leaderboards and maybe people will try other builds. As for now. Its the cookie cutter or go home
They really love their powercreep don't they? Every time something is clearly miles ahead of everything else, instead of nerfing it, they bring all the rest up to par. Problem is, it's never up to par, it's better. The sets are the perfect example. Each new set is more powerful than the others, and they show no sign of stopping this. A few seasons down the road everybody will be doing GR 100 and critting for 500 billions.
exactly. i take the best spec for the targetted purpose and i try to perfect the gear for that spec. if my hellfire amulet is decent but sports none of the wanted passives, i may stash it for a few days before sharding it. anything else it is a guaranteed shard.
i don't know what the devs play, but that they are rather disconnected from it was rather evident in the last months and seasons.
by the way, Glowpipe: i don't aim for high places in the leaderboards. but if my fun spec only reaches 35 with many problems while there are better specs around for 60+, where would be the fun? you have your own goals and want to reach or surpass them. why satisfy with something much smaller for more than the giggles?
Not everyone plays because " OMG my RL sucks to bad i have to try and proof myself online in a game "
Wrong and you know it. How do you think most Meta's are being used today? Because people think outside the box then we have leechers like you come in after they did all the working setting up a build and thinking your awesome shit, Worm.
You do understand that Leaderboards and GR pushing is worthless tho right? To this day you still don't need gems over level 25 to clear 10T easy.
Anything over is worthless. I should know. Having level 3 75 gems+ because my friends wanted me to run with them. I don't feel much better really.
Wanna know what sucks? I Don't run a Meta build, Don't run a HFA and not zDPS. My " Fun Build " is running 77's with friends and i carry. guess some of you should try looking at the game instead of loging in and copy/pasting whats " best ".
Well that's exactly how it worked for me but hey, since they aren't doing exactly what you want then they are of course clueless. Different prefs and ways to play for different people. Get that into your head.
And yet, the best specs will clear T10 faster. There's currently no build that can one shot everything on T10, so reducing the TTK to the minimum available is just a better choice. I also used to play "my own build", but I got tired of being inefficient. ARPGs are just maths, no matter which one it is, there's always going to be a "best" choice for a given class/mastery/however you want to call it.
now phasing out posts about quin, we will talk about builds supporting quin instead. yea yea yea
is this a joke? gl playing with this for speed 70+
Yeah right, because nothing says "support" better than a less helpful zdps crusader who fills the entire screen with hammer spam, leaving you unable to see anything.
I'll just have you know that the most popular 75s speed farming comp in china is now Stat charge, duo-wield heal monk, xp-sader and xp barb.
The Xp sader is sometimes swapped for an XP WD. But the gist is the same, 1 static charge monk and 3 supports that give xp and proc it.
But builds are fluid and not set in stone, every season is filled with players that innovate and come up with new builds, the static charge build would never have been popular if not for an NS chinese player experimenting with all of the runes possible.
And when new builds show up, they're going to have different passive, different rolls, different items, and thats when you're going to be happy you have a necklace with alacrity or superstition or nightstalker.
