PTR 2.3 Undocumented Changes
Changes on patches sometimes do not make to the Patch Notes, and we usually make a thread with changes reported by users on forums and Reddit.
This is an initial list, since the PTR just recently went live, and will be updated as needed. Also keep in mind some of these may change from the PTR to the live patch.
General Changes
- Quite a few "new" Bounties (Boss kills) - resplendent Chest after completing these.
- Uber bosses can drop up to 3 organs at once (could be due to the +2000% legendary drop buff)
- New Shrine (Bandit) that spawns lots of Goblins!
- Odious Collectors may now drop Forgotten Souls (Legendary crafting material).
- New big purple goblin "Snitches" - casts jailer and spawns trash mobs.
- Squirt the Peddler in Hidden Camp now sells essences required to convert gems.
- The player profile (skills, equipment and cube choices) is snapshotted when they get a leaderboard entry - you can right click to check it.
- Conduit duration increased to 30 seconds.
- Elite packs drop Progress Globes (orange) in normal Rifts.
- Rift Guardians in normal rifts can now drop up to 2 Greater Rift Keystones at once.
- Uber Maghda's invulnerability shield doesn't last as much.
- It's possible to scroll to see item descriptions that are too big to fit the screen.
- The 30 second countdown timer when closing Greater Rifts has been removed.
- Increased repair costs (could be due to a known bug with socketed items that will be fixed!)
- Can no longer take damage while on loading screen (apparently invulnerable until you move or issue a command)
Item Changes
- Transmuting a Puzzle Ring opens a portal to The Vault.
- Transmuting a Bovine Bardiche opens a portal to Not The Cow Level.
- Crafted items have no level requirement.
- Ancient items have an additional { } around the brackets in Clan chat - {[Ancient Shenlong Relentless Assault]}
- In-Geom now has a buff icon.
- Shenlong's Spirit now has a buff icon.
- Fate of the Fell is facing the right way when viewing your character.
Skill Changes
- Steed Charge can no longer run through doors and gates.
- Teleport now works "through" closed doors.

Last time I was on this only applied to Greater Rifts, for clarification.
Both the shutdown timer removal and the orange progress orbs in normal rifts are PTR-only things. Both applied to the 2.2 PTR, and both were back to normal once it went live.
Yeah they were on the 2.2 PTR but as a bug that was fixed during the PTR course, I guess they are implementing it now for real as the orbs now have the normal rift color (on 2.2 PTR they were just like the grift ones), and it makes a lot of sense, as normal rifts are taking longer to be completed (mobs don't give the same amount of "rift experience" they do now on live servers).
Great work, but "Objective Indicator arrow activates at 1 minute rather than 5 minutes now." - this is in the patch notes you posted previously
@Gruffertus true. I missed that in the actual patch notes thanks for letting us know.
@Nevcairiel the shutdown removal timer we still don't know if it's gonna stay this time. The orange progress orbs is probably going to stay judging from a recent Nevalistis tweet on the matter.
Thanks for your replies! I've edited a few other things for clarity.
A couple of things I noticed in the PTR are:
Bonus act doesn't seem to award a cache for each player. In the game I created I was the only one getting the bonus cache while my other team members didn't get it. Only the last bonus act they all got the bonus cache.
On torment 6 the keywardens don't drop 100% which I guess doesn't really matter as drop means opening portal so goes quick enough as it is.
It also feels like that chest that spawns now at the boss has better chance of legendary drops then normal resplendent chests.
i think progress orbs are bad thing in gr.. hope it gets removed in there
Code, I'm not sure if Quin checks our news' comment section too often, so you may not get an answer (or maybe you will, who knows). If you want a better shot at him answering maybe it's better to ask that on the video's comment section
I wonder if the cubed new Lion's Claw seasonal fist weapon can boost a bit the numbers because it's not implemented yet AFAIK unless I'm missing something.
You could fit in Madstone if you swapped out the CoE passive for the RoRG passive, but between the 2pc bonus and Gundo Gear, I think it would largely be a waste of a slot. It's already pretty easy to apply EP as it is with this set.
