Retroactive Set Changes
The current set changes on Patch 2.2 are planned to be retroactive and affect previously farmed items, so farming those Ancient Set pieces now should pay off later on. Also, a post by Vaneras on the EU forums states that the new Sets (Delsere Magnum Opus, Wrath of the Wastes and Unhallowed Essence) are not planned to be seasonal exclusive items. Currently no news regarding the Helltooh Harness set. Read below.

We have a general philosophy to avoid retroactive changes, because we acknowledge it can feel a little weird to log in and have your gear behave differently than you expect. However, sets are an exception to this rule because of how much time is usually invested in gathering a full set. We'd rather you not have to refarm the entire set over again and instead have the opportunity to try all the new changes the moment you log in.

Are the new sets for DH, Barb and Wiz is seasonal only(S3) or will release when patch 2.2 hits the server?
A question vaneras, is the set bonus of "Unhallowed Essence" the final bonus for the new DH set?Nothing is final yet. We will be looking for feedback on the new sets from players trying them out on the PTR, so adjustments can still be made if something doesn't feel quite right.

GO GO GO PTR GO GO GO
*as you can see im excited.
I wonder what decision led to making firebirds from top tier to something I doubt I'll consider even picking up.
Maybe the fact that it has been the only useable thing for Wizards for the past 6+ months? And everyone is tired of it? And tired of using only fire?
Even with all the changes, 3k% weapon damage/second is solid, so while maybe it won't be the go-to set for absolute end-game, it will still definitely be useful while you get the items what might take it's place at end-game.
that HAS TO BE a pun!
Can't wait to test the new barb set !
The listed changes are just that, changes. The infinite dot is still here, you're still dealing damage forever just as easily as before.
What does the new Oculus Ring do? I'm looking for it in the patchnotes but I don't see anything yet they said they disabled its legendary affix.
I haven't been this excited for a patch since 2.0
Oh man, am i glad i saved a full 6 piece set of Raiment (5/6 ancient)
Edit:- ment raiment not Innas
But the notes say that the Effects are only on new items, not existing ones, or am I seeing that wrong.??
Set changes are commonly retroactive, and the devs already stated that these are also planned to affect old sets.
Well, bad news then. They are definitely planning on waiting for Season 2 to end, then have a short hiatus, then release 2.2 with Season 3 - it's the main reason why "testing" started this early, because it's gonna take a while.
Also, season 2 started 2 weeks ago and it's already "boring as hell"? Don't get me wrong, I agree patch 2.1.2 was underwhelming in content and I'd love to see 2.2's content up and running, but that doesn't invalidate the fact that there's a new season and a few dozen hours of content to play through again, specially with the changes to Rift/GR density, bosses and new seasonal items.
Even for non-seasonal players, there's the hunt for Season 1 Legendaries (now available) and Ancient items, which can take a while too. If nothing, you can at least prepare for Patch 2.2 by farming Ancient versions of the improved sets so that once the patch hits you can get straight to using the new sets.
But if all that is "boring as hell", either because you've gotten a taste of what 2.2 will bring or because you're just bored with the game, then it might be better to just take a break from it.
The items themselves aren't changing, but the set bonus is. So any items you have at the moment will have the new set bonus once 2.2 goes live. Only items that are getting new legendary powers (Like Skull Grasp) will have to be farmed again.
Ok, seems really good patch, but still stuff are missing.
1) new tabs plz ??????
2) good job on no more normal potion for auto-pickup, but where is the gems/material auto pick-up?
1) I don't think tabs will be something they'll add in a patch. Better to wait for an expansion.
2) They explicitly said there will be no gems and material auto pick-up.
Everything is nice, lots of changes, but...what about trials? It's the QoL change I was expecting the most, right now I can't even force myself to do grifts because of an idiotic amount of trials required to do before, and the game should not be about forcing oneself to do something but having at least a bit of fun...
omg 1:30min queue GG blizz for that uber fast servers ;/
Am I the only one impressed at the degree to which they are buffing Roland's set? I know it's been the red-headed stepchild to Akkhan's for it's whole existence, but bloody hell a nearly 5X damage increase between it and Akkhan's seems like overkill.
Please Blizz, make these changes to IK final. its so perfect, hell id ditch the 6pc bonus for TaT and have retarded ancients swingin' on demons.
So happy I decided to re run barb for S2, getting really bored of FC/Reakor builds, I feel like im playing DDR on my Barb.
INB4 IK > Raekors
#scarbarians
1) why not? everybody ask for them....
2) yea i read it, but their argument are really bad, and every single players want it, so i reallly hope they implent it asap, there is absolutly NO reason for not to, it just make the mechanics way smoother
